Short answer
Evidence-led verdict
Tiger Shrine is a Relax Gaming first-party title identified in the checked demo as tigershrine. The live help we inspected is dated 8 July 2025 and marked version 1.0.2; the official release record dates the game to 2 April 2025. The rules describe six reels and four rows with 4,096 adjacent-reel ways, expanding to seven rows per reel and 117,649 ways in one bonus mode. Those identifiers matter because lower-return builds and market-specific clients can share the same artwork.
The checked help states a theoretical RTP of 96.10%, equivalent to a 3.90% theoretical house edge. That is the figure for the client opened during this review, not proof that every operator deploys the same build. Relax's product record lists alternative game IDs, so the percentage inside the exact live client remains the controlling value.
The documented maximum is 10,000x the total bet. The reference stake range is €0.10 to €100. The risk profile is medium in Relax Gaming's official launch announcement; a published ceiling and return percentage do not predict whether a feature or large award will occur in a session.
This page confirms studio authorship, current help text and public release status. It does not claim that a New Zealand operator offers the title, that a demo is a local real-money product, or that a displayed euro-denominated reference range will appear as NZD. Those questions require a separate operator and live-client check.

April 2025 release
Release record, help revision and a source typo
Relax Gaming released Tiger Shrine on 2 April 2025 and lists it as an own game. The official launch announcement identifies a six-by-four grid, medium volatility and three selectable bonus modes.
The public demo loaded game ID “tigershrine.” Its help panel is dated 08/07/2025 and marked v1.0.2. We use that later rules record for every mathematical setting and feature condition.
The product card says Reel Expansion can reach 117,646 ways, while the help and launch announcement say 117,649. The help is consistent with six reels each reaching seven rows: 7×7×7×7×7×7 equals 117,649. We treat 117,646 as a product-page typo, not a fourth configuration.
The card also lists tigershrine_94, tigershrine_86 and tigershrine_92. Those identifiers warn that alternative returns exist, but they do not support mapping an exact percentage without the deployed help.
Adjacent-reel connections
4,096 ways and Multiplier Wilds
The base layout has six reels and four rows, producing 4,096 ways. A paying combination needs matching symbols on at least three adjacent reels from the left. Multiple copies on one reel multiply the number of connections contributing to the award.
Only the longest matching combination for a symbol is paid. Bonus and Coin symbols do not take part in ordinary ways. Wilds substitute for paying symbols but not for Bonus or Coin symbols.
A Multiplier Wild carries a ways multiplier up to 5x in the base game. Its number represents how many winning connections pass through that position; it is not automatically a 5x cash multiplier applied to every win on the screen.
The top-paying Tiger is unusual because it pays from two-of-a-kind. Other symbol rules still follow the adjacent-reel structure. A two-reel Tiger award does not change the three-reel minimum for the remaining symbols.
Choose one path
Bonus trigger and Free Spin table
Three or more Bonus symbols in the base game start the selection screen. Three award 10 Free Spins, four award 15, five award 20 and six award 25. The player then chooses Reel Expansion, Symbol Upgrade or Multiplier Upgrade.
During any selected mode, two Bonus symbols add five spins. Three, four, five and six add 10, 15, 20 and 25 respectively. The retrigger table therefore begins at two, unlike the base trigger.
All three routes share the same starting trigger table but modify different state variables. One adds reel positions, one changes symbol identity, and one changes the range carried by future Multiplier Wilds.
The feature ends when no spins remain or when total awards reach 10,000x. No upgrade transfers to a later paid round.
Path one
Reel Expansion and 117,649 ways
In Reel Expansion, each collected Coin increases the number of symbol positions on the reel where it lands. The new height remains for the rest of the current bonus round and can affect the same result because Coins are collected before win evaluation.
No reel can exceed seven symbols. Once a reel reaches that maximum, Coin symbols are removed from that reel. If all six reels reach seven rows, the grid offers 117,649 ways.
Expansion raises the number of possible symbol connections, not the value of each paytable entry. A taller grid can still produce no qualifying left-to-right match.
The state is reel-specific. A Coin on reel two does not add a row to every reel. Screenshots should therefore be read position by position rather than treated as a uniform Megaways-style random height on every spin.
Path two
Symbol Upgrade and the Tiger conversion order
Symbol Upgrade counts collected Coins toward a four-coin threshold. Each completed group upgrades an animal type to the high-paying Tiger for the remainder of the bonus.
The conversion order is Monkey, Pangolin, Snake and Bird. That sequence moves lower animal tiers into the Tiger rather than letting the player select a symbol. After every animal has been upgraded, Coin symbols are removed.
Coins are collected before win evaluation, so a conversion can create or extend a Tiger combination on the same spin that completed the four-coin requirement. This timing differs from an upgrade applied only to future spins.
Converted Tigers follow the Tiger paytable, including payment from two adjacent reels. The mode does not change the Wild substitution rules or guarantee that transformed symbols align from the left.
Path three
Multiplier Upgrade limits
In Multiplier Upgrade, every Coin adds one to either the minimum or maximum value available on Multiplier Wilds. The changed boundary applies to current or subsequent Wilds for the rest of the feature.
Because Coins are collected before win evaluation, an increased range can affect a Multiplier Wild in the same result. The help does not state a single fixed final maximum for this route, so we do not invent one from screenshots.
The minimum and maximum are separate state variables. A Coin can raise either one, and the actual Wild value is then selected inside the current range. Raising the maximum does not guarantee that the next Wild receives it.
This route changes connection weight rather than reel height or symbol identity. Comparing the three options requires recognising those different distributions; none has a guaranteed profit advantage in a short feature.
Two direct entries
Bonus Buy and Super Bonus Buy
Where available, the ordinary Bonus purchase costs 60x the regular bet and guarantees the bonus selection. The Super Bonus costs 250x and supplies six Bonus symbols, which award 25 Free Spins before the chosen mode begins.
The checked help states 96.50% RTP for both purchase routes, compared with 96.10% for ordinary play. The same theoretical return on the two purchases does not make their immediate exposure equal.
At a hypothetical $1 regular stake, the Super Bonus costs $250 in one action. Its guaranteed 25 spins can return less than that amount, and the 10,000x game-round cap still applies.
Feature buys can be disabled by jurisdiction or operator. Their appearance in a global demo is not proof of availability in New Zealand or eligibility under a casino bonus.
Live-help evidence
RTP, house edge and alternative builds
The information panel in the checked official demo states “the theoretical return to player for this game is 96.10%.” Subtracting that value from 100% gives a theoretical house edge of 3.90%. Both numbers describe the same long-run mathematical relationship from opposite directions; they are not separate charges and they are not a forecast for a deposit.
| Checked mode or route | Theoretical RTP | How to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Base game in official demo | 96.10% | Verified in help: 8 July 2025 |
| Bonus and Super Bonus purchases | 96.50% | Applies only to the documented paid route where available |
A return of 96.10% means that across the model's very large test horizon, average awards correspond to 96.10 units for every 100 units staked. It does not mean a player receives that percentage back after 100 spins. High variation, rare features and capped awards can produce short samples far above or below the designed average.
Alternative game IDs are material even when their exact returns are absent from the public product card. A casino can deploy a lower-RTP build under the same consumer title. We therefore do not label 96.10% “universal” or “guaranteed.” Open the information control in the operator client and look for the percentage after the game has loaded.
The Bonus and Super Bonus purchases is mathematically separate in the checked help: it states 96.50% RTP and costs 60x for Bonus or 250x for Super Bonus with six trigger symbols and 25 spins. That route can be unavailable in some markets or excluded by an operator. Its published return does not make the option affordable or reduce the possibility of losing the full price.
Do not infer RTP from a demo balance, one successful bonus, a streaming clip or a site's headline card. A random sample cannot identify the configured model reliably. The useful audit record is the exact title, visible game ID or version, displayed RTP, date and operator client captured together.
Distribution, not prediction
Volatility and maximum-win limits
The available first-party and live-help evidence supports a medium in Relax Gaming's official launch announcement risk profile. Volatility concerns how unevenly the mathematical return is distributed: a volatile game can devote more of its return to uncommon events and leave long stretches with small awards or none. It is not a timetable for a bonus and it does not show that a loss is “due” to reverse.
The checked maximum is 10,000x total bet. “Times bet” uses the full paid stake for the initiating round, not one coin, one line or the balance. A $1 hypothetical stake makes the cap easy to understand, but it does not assert that NZD play is offered.
A cap is a settlement limit, not a realistic session target. It provides no countdown, hit schedule or evidence that raising the stake improves the chance per dollar. Previous non-winning spins do not move a random future result closer to the cap. Treat every paid round as new exposure.
Practical risk is also shaped by total stake, spin speed, feature purchases, enhanced-spin options and session length. A lower stake repeated rapidly can expose more money than a higher stake used briefly. Decide the total acceptable loss before opening the game, then use account limits and breaks rather than chasing a feature.
Read the charged amount
Bet range, optional costs and affordability
The product record gives a reference minimum of €0.10 and maximum of €100. Those euro-denominated figures identify the provider's reference build. They do not promise equivalent NZD controls, and an operator can apply different denominations or account limits.
Always read the total bet immediately before a paid action. The interface can show denomination, level, lines and total stake separately. Enhanced spins or bonus-reel options may increase the price of a round, while a feature purchase can cost many multiples of the base stake. The amount leaving the balance is the relevant measure.
A useful pre-session calculation is total bet multiplied by the maximum number of rounds you are prepared to buy, assuming the entire amount can be lost. For a feature purchase, treat the whole displayed price as exposed at once. Do not finance a purchase by increasing the base stake after losses.
Promotional funds do not change the slot's RTP. Wagering requirements, game contribution, maximum-bet rules and cash-out limits sit in the operator's terms. Check them independently, because a bonus can make an otherwise permitted game or stake ineligible.
Interface verification
Mobile help and what a demo can prove
The official web demo loaded a responsive game client and exposed the title, help date, version, rules and return information used here. On a phone, locate the menu, information icon, total bet, balance and paytable before considering a paid round. If text is clipped, rotate the device or expand the help rather than relying on a search result.
A demo can demonstrate symbol movement, feature order, mode selection and interface controls with valueless credits. It cannot establish that a real-money operator accepts players in New Zealand, that the operator uses the same game ID, or that its active RTP matches the demo.
Demo results also cannot validate the long-run RTP. Ten, one hundred or even thousands of observed spins are a noisy sample, especially in a volatile game. A large demo win is not a prediction for paid play and a dry demo sequence is not proof that the published mathematics is wrong.
If desktop and mobile help disagree, pause. Record the exact URL or operator, title, mode, help version and percentages. The mismatch can indicate a cached client, a market build or an update. Current deployed help is stronger evidence than an undated review, but conflicting clients still need clarification.
Separate evidence chain
New Zealand access is not inferred from the demo
Relax Gaming's own-games catalogue and public demo show that the studio publishes Tiger Shrine. They do not show that a named operator lawfully offers it to a person in New Zealand. Studio publication, aggregation, operator inventory, territorial access and legal status are separate claims.
Before any real-money use, verify the operator's identity, current New Zealand terms, age and location controls, payments, withdrawals, complaints, account limits and self-exclusion tools. A localised page, NZD wallet or country flag is not on its own regulatory proof.
New Zealand's online-gambling position is time-sensitive. Check the Department of Internal Affairs player guidance and our dated legal-status guide at the point of use. This review is about one game's rules and does not provide legal advice.
Even after an operator check, inspect the live game help. A valid operator relationship does not prove the highest RTP, and the right RTP does not prove operator status. Keeping both questions separate prevents a global demo from becoming an unsupported availability claim.
Source reconciliation
What the checked sources establish
The official product page establishes first-party authorship, public release status, layout, reference bets, headline features and the supported market game IDs. The loaded demo supplies the stronger operational evidence for rules, version, displayed RTP, purchase route and win-cap wording.
Help v1.0.2 resolves a typo on the product card, which prints 117,646 ways: six reels with up to seven symbols produce 7^6 = 117,649, matching the help and official launch announcement. It also verifies trigger and retrigger spin tables, coin timing, four-symbol upgrade steps, Multiplier Wild connection rules, 60x/250x purchases, 96.10% and 96.50% returns and the 10,000x cap. Alternative IDs are not treated as proof of exact RTP.
Third-party reviews were used to find frequent questions and contradictions, not to override the live help. Competitors often print only the largest cap, omit the selected mode, describe alternative IDs as exact RTPs without a source, or treat global demo access as operator availability.
The evidence was checked on 6 October 2026. The date matters: Relax can update a client or product card, and operators can retain another certified build. Future checks should start with the deployed help and compare its identifier, version and return with this record.
We do not add a hit rate, feature frequency, universal volatility score, New Zealand operator claim or exact alternative RTP unless the checked first-party material supports it. An explicit evidence gap is preferable to a precise-looking number copied from another release.
Two-minute audit
Checklist before relying on this guide
