Mega Mine: rules, features and verified RTP

Mega Mine is a 5x4 Relax Gaming slot with 32 starting ways and up to 32,768 ways after Nudging Mystery Stacks expand. A stack shows a value from two to five, nudges fully into view, raises its value and reveals that many copies of one symbol. The checked v2.0.2 help states 96.15% base RTP, 97.00% RTP for the 70x Free Spins purchase and a 50,000x cap.

Short answer

Evidence-led verdict

Mega Mine is a Relax Gaming first-party title identified in the checked demo as megamine. The live help we inspected is dated 24 July 2024 and marked version 2.0.2; the official release record dates the game to 20 October 2021. The rules describe five reels and four rows with 32 to 32,768 variable ways to win. Those identifiers matter because lower-return builds and market-specific clients can share the same artwork.

The checked help states a theoretical RTP of 96.15%, equivalent to a 3.85% theoretical house edge. That is the figure for the client opened during this review, not proof that every operator deploys the same build. Relax's product record lists alternative game IDs, so the percentage inside the exact live client remains the controlling value.

The help sets a 50,000x round cap. If Free Spins reach that amount, the feature ends and the game awards exactly 50,000x bet. The current help does not publish one universal stake range, so this review leaves operator denominations unclaimed. The risk profile is not stated in the checked live help; return and prize information do not predict whether a feature or large award will occur in a session.

This page confirms studio authorship, current help text and public release status. It does not claim that a New Zealand operator offers the title, that a demo is a local real-money product, or that a displayed euro-denominated reference range will appear as NZD. Those questions require a separate operator and live-client check.

Nudging Ways release

Release status and exact Mega Mine build

Relax Gaming announced Mega Mine on 20 October 2021 and currently lists it in the Own Games catalogue. The official client identifies the game as megamine. That exact ID separates it from later mine-themed titles and from similarly named games by other studios.

The help inspected on 6 October 2026 is dated 24/07/2024 and marked version 2.0.2. It is newer operational evidence than the launch article, so its return settings, purchase cost and maximum-win wording control this review.

The layout has five reels and four rows. It begins with 32 ways, not a fixed line set. The number of ways can expand because a Mystery Stack may reveal several instances of one symbol on the same reel.

The official FUN client proves that the rules and help were accessible. It does not prove a New Zealand real-money listing, NZD denomination or operator activation of the purchase button. Those are separate checks.

Left-to-right combinations

How 32 to 32,768 ways are counted

A way win needs matching symbols on three or more adjacent reels beginning with reel one. The symbols may occupy any row on each qualifying reel; they do not need to trace a horizontal line. Only the longest qualifying combination for each symbol is paid.

When more than one matching symbol appears on a reel, the alternatives multiply. Two matching positions on one reel and three on the next create more combinations than one matching position on each. That multiplication is how revealed stacks increase the count toward 32,768.

Wild symbols substitute for normal symbols. The rules place ordinary Wilds on reels two through five in both the base game and Free Spins; only the bonus can reveal Wilds from the Nudging Mystery Stack itself.

A full way of Wilds is valued as the highest-paying normal symbol because Wild has no independent pay. The maximum headline number is a count of possible ways, not a promise that the board will produce that many winning combinations on a spin.

Values two through eight

Nudging Mystery Stacks step by step

A Mystery Stack can appear on any reel with a displayed value between two and five. Unless it already covers the reel, it nudges one row at a time until fully visible. Each row of movement increases the displayed value by one.

Once the stack covers the reel, it reveals the same symbol type throughout. The displayed value determines how many copies of that symbol are used in the ways calculation, and the maximum value stated in help is eight.

If a stack lands already fully visible, it does not nudge first. It reveals the number it displayed on arrival. That exception matters because not every stack animation contributes an extra value step.

The symbol type is not selected by the player. A large displayed value can create many ways only if it connects with the matching symbol from reel one across adjacent reels. A tall stack on an isolated later reel can therefore reveal dramatically without producing a qualifying win.

Before and after the nudge

Why the game evaluates wins twice

When a Nudging Mystery Stack is present, the game evaluates the visible grid before the nudge. It then moves the stack into position, reveals its symbol and evaluates the changed grid again. These are two stages of one paid spin.

At the second stage, only new winning combinations that include the revealed stack symbols count. Existing combinations are not simply paid twice. This condition prevents the second evaluation from duplicating an unchanged win.

Several stacks can appear together, allowing multiple reels to change their symbol counts. The final number of ways depends on the revealed values, revealed symbol types and whether the left-to-right connection survives across adjacent reels.

The animation may pause while reels nudge and reveal, but it is not a player decision window. Changing the stake is not permitted after the round begins, and a new charge is not taken for the internal movement.

Scatter reveals

Mega Free Spins and Wild stacks

Scatter symbols are revealed from Mystery Stacks rather than landing as ordinary visible symbols. Two Scatters trigger six Free Spins, and each additional Scatter in the triggering event adds one spin.

Nudging Mystery Stacks appear more frequently during Free Spins. They may also reveal Wild symbols, a capability not available to the stack in the base game. This can increase the number of substituting positions used in a ways calculation.

The checked rules do not say that every Free Spin contains a stack or a Wild reveal. “More frequently” is a qualitative comparison, not a percentage or guarantee. No trigger frequency is published in the help.

The purchase costs 70 times the regular bet, guarantees at least one stack revealing Scatters and therefore enters the bonus. Its stated return is 97.00%. Natural entry and purchased entry use the documented bonus rules, but the price makes the purchased route a distinct wager.

Route cost and ceiling

What the 50,000x cap controls

The help caps the whole game round at 50,000 times bet. If accumulated Free Spins reach that value, the feature ends and the capped amount is awarded. The ceiling is applied after the connected mechanics of the initiating round, not separately to each stack or spin.

A maximum-game-win rule is different from an operator withdrawal limit. Reaching a theoretical game cap does not establish when or how an operator pays, and an operator cash-out term does not alter the certified game rule.

The 97.00% purchase return is higher than the checked 96.15% base return, but that long-run difference does not make an individual 70× purchase likely to recover its price. The complete price can be lost in one decision.

If the deployed client hides the buy control or shows another RTP, use that help instead. Market restrictions, alternative packages and operator configuration can differ even when the artwork and title remain Mega Mine.

Live-help evidence

RTP, house edge and alternative builds

The information panel in the checked official demo states “the theoretical return to player for this game is 96.15%.” Subtracting that value from 100% gives a theoretical house edge of 3.85%. Both numbers describe the same long-run mathematical relationship from opposite directions; they are not separate charges and they are not a forecast for a deposit.

Checked mode or routeTheoretical RTPHow to use it
Base game in official demo96.15%Verified in help: 24 July 2024
Mega Free Spins purchase97.00%Applies only to the documented paid route where available

A return of 96.15% means that across the model's very large test horizon, average awards correspond to 96.15 units for every 100 units staked. It does not mean a player receives that percentage back after 100 spins. High variation, rare features and capped awards can produce short samples far above or below the designed average.

Alternative game IDs are material even when their exact returns are absent from the public product card. A casino can deploy a lower-RTP build under the same consumer title. We therefore do not label 96.15% “universal” or “guaranteed.” Open the information control in the operator client and look for the percentage after the game has loaded.

The Mega Free Spins purchase is mathematically separate in the checked help: it states 97.00% RTP and costs 70× the reference bet. That route can be unavailable in some markets or excluded by an operator. Its published return does not make the option affordable or reduce the possibility of losing the full price.

Do not infer RTP from a demo balance, one successful bonus, a streaming clip or a site's headline card. A random sample cannot identify the configured model reliably. The useful audit record is the exact title, visible game ID or version, displayed RTP, date and operator client captured together.

Distribution, not prediction

Volatility and maximum-win limits

The v2.0.2 help does not assign a formal volatility category or publish a feature frequency. The variable-way stacks and 50,000× ceiling can produce uneven outcomes, but that observation is not a provider rating and cannot be translated into bonus odds.

The help sets a 50,000x round cap. If Free Spins reach that amount, the feature ends and the game awards exactly 50,000x bet. “Times bet” uses the full paid stake for the initiating round, not one coin, one line or the balance. A $1 hypothetical stake makes the scale easy to understand, but it does not assert that NZD play is offered.

A cap is a settlement limit, not a realistic session target. It provides no countdown, hit schedule or evidence that raising the stake improves the chance per dollar. Previous non-winning spins do not move a random future result closer to the cap. Treat every paid round as new exposure.

Practical risk is also shaped by total stake, spin speed, feature purchases, enhanced-spin options and session length. A lower stake repeated rapidly can expose more money than a higher stake used briefly. Decide the total acceptable loss before opening the game, then use account limits and breaks rather than chasing a feature.

Read the charged amount

Bet range, optional costs and affordability

The live help verifies that the optional Mega Free Spins route costs 70 times the regular bet. It does not establish one universal minimum or maximum stake; use the exact deployed client's total-bet display, especially where account currency or market controls differ.

Always read the total bet immediately before a paid action. The interface can show denomination, level, lines and total stake separately. Enhanced spins or bonus-reel options may increase the price of a round, while a feature purchase can cost many multiples of the base stake. The amount leaving the balance is the relevant measure.

A useful pre-session calculation is total bet multiplied by the maximum number of rounds you are prepared to buy, assuming the entire amount can be lost. For a feature purchase, treat the whole displayed price as exposed at once. Do not finance a purchase by increasing the base stake after losses.

Promotional funds do not change the slot's RTP. Wagering requirements, game contribution, maximum-bet rules and cash-out limits sit in the operator's terms. Check them independently, because a bonus can make an otherwise permitted game or stake ineligible.

Interface verification

Mobile help and what a demo can prove

The official web demo loaded a responsive game client and exposed the title, help date, version, rules and return information used here. On a phone, locate the menu, information icon, total bet, balance and paytable before considering a paid round. If text is clipped, rotate the device or expand the help rather than relying on a search result.

A demo can demonstrate symbol movement, feature order, mode selection and interface controls with valueless credits. It cannot establish that a real-money operator accepts players in New Zealand, that the operator uses the same game ID, or that its active RTP matches the demo.

Demo results also cannot validate the long-run RTP. Ten, one hundred or even thousands of observed spins are a noisy sample, especially in a volatile game. A large demo win is not a prediction for paid play and a dry demo sequence is not proof that the published mathematics is wrong.

If desktop and mobile help disagree, pause. Record the exact URL or operator, title, mode, help version and percentages. The mismatch can indicate a cached client, a market build or an update. Current deployed help is stronger evidence than an undated review, but conflicting clients still need clarification.

Separate evidence chain

New Zealand access is not inferred from the demo

Relax Gaming's own-games catalogue and public demo show that the studio publishes Mega Mine. They do not show that a named operator lawfully offers it to a person in New Zealand. Studio publication, aggregation, operator inventory, territorial access and legal status are separate claims.

Before any real-money use, verify the operator's identity, current New Zealand terms, age and location controls, payments, withdrawals, complaints, account limits and self-exclusion tools. A localised page, NZD wallet or country flag is not on its own regulatory proof.

New Zealand's online-gambling position is time-sensitive. Check the Department of Internal Affairs player guidance and our dated legal-status guide at the point of use. This review is about one game's rules and does not provide legal advice.

Even after an operator check, inspect the live game help. A valid operator relationship does not prove the highest RTP, and the right RTP does not prove operator status. Keeping both questions separate prevents a global demo from becoming an unsupported availability claim.

Source reconciliation

What the checked sources establish

The official product page establishes first-party authorship, public release status, layout, reference bets, headline features and the supported market game IDs. The loaded demo supplies the stronger operational evidence for rules, version, displayed RTP, purchase route and win-cap wording.

The v2.0.2 help establishes the 5×4 layout, variable 32–32,768 ways, stack values and nudges, two-stage win evaluation, Scatter trigger, Wild positions, 96.15% base return, 97.00% purchase return, 70× price and 50,000× cap. No New Zealand operator inventory or formal volatility class is established.

Third-party reviews were used to find frequent questions and contradictions, not to override the live help. Competitors often print only the largest cap, omit the selected mode, describe alternative IDs as exact RTPs without a source, or treat global demo access as operator availability.

The evidence was checked on 6 October 2026. The date matters: Relax can update a client or product card, and operators can retain another certified build. Future checks should start with the deployed help and compare its identifier, version and return with this record.

We do not add a hit rate, feature frequency, universal volatility score, New Zealand operator claim or exact alternative RTP unless the checked first-party material supports it. An explicit evidence gap is preferable to a precise-looking number copied from another release.

Two-minute audit

Checklist before relying on this guide

  1. Match the full title Mega Mine and developer Relax Gaming.
  2. Confirm game ID megamine, help date 24 July 2024 and version 2.0.2 where shown.
  3. Check the layout: five reels and four rows with 32 to 32,768 variable ways to win.
  4. Read feature triggers, reset rules and settlement order in the live help.
  5. Record the active RTP rather than assuming 96.15%.
  6. Recheck the exact maximum wording: 50,000x the initiating bet.
  7. Read the displayed total stake after enabling any option.
  8. Verify operator identity and New Zealand access independently.
  9. Check promotional terms separately from game mathematics.
  10. Set money and time limits that remain acceptable if no feature arrives.

If the live help differs, use that deployed build and send the title, game ID, version, date and screenshot through our corrections process. That evidence lets us update one canonical review without creating duplicate RTP or bonus pages.
