Short answer
Evidence-led verdict
Mega Flip is a Relax Gaming first-party title identified in the checked demo as megaflip. the current official package exposes no readable version or publication date; the official release record dates the game to 2 June 2020. The rules describe 18 independent reel positions across six columns, using a 2-2-3-3-4-4 base layout that reverses in Free Spins. Those identifiers matter because lower-return builds and market-specific clients can share the same artwork.
The current Mega Flip help resolves its theoretical RTP through runtime configuration. The supplier configuration request returned access denied during this check, so the percentage could not be verified. The review therefore leaves it open rather than copying an undated third-party number.
The checked help does not state one fixed ordinary-game maximum. Its paytables and any separately documented jackpot rules must therefore be read without inventing a universal cap. The reference stake range is €0.20 to €100. The risk profile is high, as stated in the official release; return and prize information do not predict whether a feature or large award will occur in a session.
This page confirms studio authorship, current help text and public release status. It does not claim that a New Zealand operator offers the title, that a demo is a local real-money product, or that a displayed euro-denominated reference range will appear as NZD. Those questions require a separate operator and live-client check.

Exact 2020 release
Mega Flip identity and evidence hierarchy
Relax Gaming announced Mega Flip on 2 June 2020 and continues to list it as an Own Game. Its product page names Relax Gaming, describes Respins and Multipliers, and gives a €0.20–€100 reference stake range.
The current game ID is megaflip. Unlike several newer packages, the served bundle does not expose a readable game version and version date in the pattern available to our checker. We therefore record the evidence-check date and exact client URL rather than inventing a revision label.
The launch called the game high volatility and advertised a 5,493× maximum payout. Current help does not present 5,493× as a hard cap and loads RTP dynamically. Both launch claims remain attributed to 2020 instead of being blended into the current rules record.
The supplier demo proves the layout and mechanics checked below, not availability through a New Zealand operator. A live operator can use a different approved configuration or omit the title entirely.
Asymmetric reel area
18 independent positions across six columns
The base game uses six columns containing two, two, three, three, four and four positions. That makes 18 independent reel locations rather than six conventional full-height reels. Columns with different heights are offset by half a row.
The offset affects adjacency. A position can connect to a symbol in the same row, one row above or one row below in the next column. At a height transition, the half-row offset limits which neighbouring positions are valid.
The varying shape is functional, not decorative. It determines how many connections are possible at each stage and why reversing the grid in Free Spins moves the largest columns to the left.
Left-to-right adjacency
How connected ways are evaluated
Every winning connected way begins in the leftmost column. A matching symbol must then appear in an allowed adjacent position in each next column. The sequence can move horizontally or diagonally within the one-row boundary.
The rules pay the longest unique connected ways. If a path continues farther, it is not also counted repeatedly as shorter versions of the same path. Different valid branches can still produce multiple ways.
This is not a cluster system because touching symbols anywhere on the grid are insufficient; the route must start from column one and advance one column at a time. It is also not a fixed payline system because the path can branch through several adjacent positions.
Separate indicator required
A win alone does not guarantee a base-game respin
In the base game, a winning connected way can trigger Respins only when the additional Re-spin reel or sign lands in the required state. Every symbol participating in the original win locks in place.
A respin then supplies new symbols around the locked positions. If a new matching symbol extends the connected way, it also locks and another respin is awarded. The sequence stops when no new symbol extends the win.
Settlement waits until the respins finish. That prevents the intermediate shapes from being paid independently as completed rounds. The final connected structure and any activated multiplier determine the evaluated result.
Fill columns from the left
Base-game multipliers require consecutive full columns
The first multiplier activates when locked winning symbols fill the entire leftmost column. Filling the first two columns activates the next value, and the progression continues in order. Six filled columns reach the base sequence's 7× ceiling.
A full column farther right does not skip an incomplete earlier column in base play. The ordering requirement makes a wide connection different from a left-to-right wall of locked positions.
The multiplier applies after the respin sequence completes. It does not multiply each interim extension as a separate payout, and a highlighted meter value should be checked at the final evaluation screen.
Diamond trigger
Three diamonds award eight Free Spins
Three or more Diamond symbols in the base game trigger the feature. Exactly three award eight Free Spins; each additional Diamond adds two more. Diamonds do not land during a respin, and a base respin cannot be awarded on a round that has already triggered Free Spins.
That sequencing prevents one paid result from simultaneously growing a base respin chain and adding further trigger diamonds. The feature award is resolved under its own rules after the triggering round.
The initial spin count is determined by the trigger only. Eight spins are not guaranteed wins, and extra diamonds beyond three are additions to the count rather than cash multipliers.
Reverse geometry
Free Spins flip the reel heights
During Free Spins, the layout becomes four, four, three, three, two and two positions from left to right. The largest columns now sit at the required starting side for connected ways.
The Re-spin indicator is locked active, so every initial winning combination awards a respin. Winning symbols lock and extensions continue under the same adjacency principle as the base game.
The multiplier rule is also relaxed. Any filled columns contribute to the multiplier count regardless of their positions. One filled column activates the first value, two activate the next, and so on.
Growing multiplier range
Retriggers add spins and lift potential multipliers
During the feature, three Diamonds award four extra Free Spins and every Diamond beyond the third adds another two. This differs from the base trigger, where three award eight.
Each retrigger raises the multiplier range by one. Before any retrigger, the available values run from 2× to 7×; after one retrigger they run from 3× to 8×, with the same step continuing for later retriggers.
A higher available range does not guarantee the top value. Locked winning symbols still need to fill enough columns. The retrigger changes the meter scale and adds spins; actual settlement depends on later random outcomes.
Live-help evidence
RTP, house edge and alternative builds
The current Mega Flip help resolves its theoretical RTP through runtime configuration. The supplier configuration request returned access denied during this check, so the percentage could not be verified. The review therefore leaves it open rather than copying an undated third-party number. Without a verified percentage, a house edge cannot be calculated responsibly. Open the exact live help and subtract its displayed RTP from 100%; do not infer the missing value from artwork, a game-ID suffix or another edition.
| Checked mode or route | Theoretical RTP | How to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Exact deployed base game | Not exposed publicly | Read the current in-game help before use |
Once a deployed help panel supplies a percentage, read it as a long-run average across the mathematical model—not a personal refund after 100 spins. High variation, rare features, jackpots and capped awards can produce short samples far above or below that average.
Alternative game IDs are material even when their exact returns are absent from the public product card. A casino can deploy a lower-RTP build under the same consumer title. We therefore do not label any third-party percentage “universal” or “guaranteed.” Open the information control in the operator client and look for the percentage after the game has loaded.
Do not infer RTP from a demo balance, one successful bonus, a streaming clip or a site's headline card. A random sample cannot identify the configured model reliably. The useful audit record is the exact title, visible game ID or version, displayed RTP, date and operator client captured together.
Distribution, not prediction
Volatility and maximum-win limits
Relax's official 2 June 2020 release calls Mega Flip high volatility. Locking respins and feature multipliers can concentrate value in extended connected sequences, but the label does not predict when those sequences will occur.
The current help does not publish a single fixed ordinary-game cap. That evidence gap must remain separate from moving progressive prizes and promotional maximum-win copy. If a deployed operator client states a cap, record that exact build and the unit it uses rather than importing a number from another source.
A cap is a settlement limit, not a realistic session target. It provides no countdown, hit schedule or evidence that raising the stake improves the chance per dollar. Previous non-winning spins do not move a random future result closer to the cap. Treat every paid round as new exposure.
Practical risk is also shaped by total stake, spin speed, feature purchases, enhanced-spin options and session length. A lower stake repeated rapidly can expose more money than a higher stake used briefly. Decide the total acceptable loss before opening the game, then use account limits and breaks rather than chasing a feature.
Read the charged amount
Bet range, optional costs and affordability
The product record gives a reference minimum of €0.20 and maximum of €100. Those euro-denominated figures identify the provider's reference build. They do not promise equivalent NZD controls, and an operator can apply different denominations or account limits.
Always read the total bet immediately before a paid action. The interface can show denomination, level, lines and total stake separately. Enhanced spins or bonus-reel options may increase the price of a round, while a feature purchase can cost many multiples of the base stake. The amount leaving the balance is the relevant measure.
A useful pre-session calculation is total bet multiplied by the maximum number of rounds you are prepared to buy, assuming the entire amount can be lost. For a feature purchase, treat the whole displayed price as exposed at once. Do not finance a purchase by increasing the base stake after losses.
Promotional funds do not change the slot's RTP. Wagering requirements, game contribution, maximum-bet rules and cash-out limits sit in the operator's terms. Check them independently, because a bonus can make an otherwise permitted game or stake ineligible.
Interface verification
Mobile help and what a demo can prove
The official web demo loaded a responsive game client and exposed the title, help date, version, rules and return information used here. On a phone, locate the menu, information icon, total bet, balance and paytable before considering a paid round. If text is clipped, rotate the device or expand the help rather than relying on a search result.
A demo can demonstrate symbol movement, feature order, mode selection and interface controls with valueless credits. It cannot establish that a real-money operator accepts players in New Zealand, that the operator uses the same game ID, or that its active RTP matches the demo.
Demo results also cannot validate the long-run RTP. Ten, one hundred or even thousands of observed spins are a noisy sample, especially in a volatile game. A large demo win is not a prediction for paid play and a dry demo sequence is not proof that the published mathematics is wrong.
If desktop and mobile help disagree, pause. Record the exact URL or operator, title, mode, help version and percentages. The mismatch can indicate a cached client, a market build or an update. Current deployed help is stronger evidence than an undated review, but conflicting clients still need clarification.
Separate evidence chain
New Zealand access is not inferred from the demo
Relax Gaming's own-games catalogue and public demo show that the studio publishes Mega Flip. They do not show that a named operator lawfully offers it to a person in New Zealand. Studio publication, aggregation, operator inventory, territorial access and legal status are separate claims.
Before any real-money use, verify the operator's identity, current New Zealand terms, age and location controls, payments, withdrawals, complaints, account limits and self-exclusion tools. A localised page, NZD wallet or country flag is not on its own regulatory proof.
New Zealand's online-gambling position is time-sensitive. Check the Department of Internal Affairs player guidance and our dated legal-status guide at the point of use. This review is about one game's rules and does not provide legal advice.
Even after an operator check, inspect the live game help. A valid operator relationship does not prove the highest RTP, and the right RTP does not prove operator status. Keeping both questions separate prevents a global demo from becoming an unsupported availability claim.
Source reconciliation
What the checked sources establish
The product and release pages establish Relax authorship, release date, high-volatility positioning, reference stakes and the dated 5,493× headline. Current help controls the 18-position layout, connected-way adjacency, locking respins, multiplier thresholds and diamond awards. Its RTP value requires an inaccessible runtime response.
Current help verifies six columns, the 2-2-3-3-4-4 base arrangement, connected adjacency, Re-spin indicator, locked extensions, 2×–7× base multipliers, eight-spin feature entry, reversed grid, guaranteed feature respins and retriggers. It exposes no resolved RTP or hard cap in the readable package.
Third-party reviews were used to find frequent questions and contradictions, not to override the live help. Competitors often print only the largest cap, omit the selected mode, describe alternative IDs as exact RTPs without a source, or treat global demo access as operator availability.
The evidence was checked on 6 October 2026. The date matters: Relax can update a client or product card, and operators can retain another certified build. Future checks should start with the deployed help and compare its identifier, version and return with this record.
We do not add a hit rate, feature frequency, universal volatility score, New Zealand operator claim or exact alternative RTP unless the checked first-party material supports it. An explicit evidence gap is preferable to a precise-looking number copied from another release.
Two-minute audit
Checklist before relying on this guide
- Match the full title Mega Flip and developer Relax Gaming.
- Confirm game ID megaflip, help date 6 October 2026 and version not exposed where shown.
- Check the layout: 18 independent reel positions across six columns, using a 2-2-3-3-4-4 base layout that reverses in Free Spins.
- Read feature triggers, reset rules and settlement order in the live help.
- Record the active RTP rather than assuming a number from another source.
- Confirm whether the deployed help states an ordinary cap; preserve the gap if it does not.
- Read the displayed total stake after enabling any option.
- Verify operator identity and New Zealand access independently.
- Check promotional terms separately from game mathematics.
- Set money and time limits that remain acceptable if no feature arrives.
If the live help differs, use that deployed build and send the title, game ID, version, date and screenshot through our corrections process. That evidence lets us update one canonical review without creating duplicate RTP or bonus pages.

Questions answered
Frequently asked questions
What is the current Mega Flip RTP?
The current help supplies RTP from the runtime client configuration. That configuration endpoint returned access denied during the 6 October 2026 check, so this review does not publish an unverified percentage.
How many reels does Mega Flip use?
The rules describe 18 independent reel positions arranged across six columns. In the base game, the columns have 2, 2, 3, 3, 4 and 4 rows; Free Spins reverse the order.
How do Mega Flip respins start?
A base-game win must occur while the separate Re-spin indicator lands in its active position. Winning symbols lock, and respins continue while new symbols extend the original connected way.
How many Free Spins are awarded?
Three diamonds award 8 Free Spins and every additional diamond adds 2. During the feature, three diamonds retrigger 4 spins and each additional diamond adds 2.
Is 5,493× a current verified cap?
The official 2020 release advertised a 5,493× maximum payout, but current help does not state it as a hard settlement cap. The dated headline is not relabelled as current help evidence.
