Short answer

Evidence-led verdict

The Great Pigsby Megaways is a Relax Gaming first-party title identified in the checked demo as greatpigsbymegaways. the current public launcher maps the Megaways game ID to shared Pigsby package v1.0.14 dated 13 November 2024, but the active RTP is supplied by server configuration; the official release record dates the game to 19 October 2022. The rules describe six variable reels with up to seven symbol positions and 117,649 Megaways. Those identifiers matter because lower-return builds and market-specific clients can share the same artwork.

Relax Gaming's current product page publishes a 94.00% alternative RTP and a 90% German RTP for The Great Pigsby Megaways. The public client package leaves the active percentage to server configuration, so 94.00% is a verified available setting—not a universal default or proof of an operator's build.

The official 19 October 2022 release advertises a 20,000x maximum. The current product card does not repeat the cap, so confirm the exact live-help wording and unit before relying on it. The reference stake range is €0.10 to €50. The risk profile is medium on the current product card; the older launch called it high; return and prize information do not predict whether a feature or large award will occur in a session.

This page confirms studio authorship, current help text and public release status. It does not claim that a New Zealand operator offers the title, that a demo is a local real-money product, or that a displayed euro-denominated reference range will appear as NZD. Those questions require a separate operator and live-client check.

Exact title, release and shared client package

Relax released The Great Pigsby Megaways on 19 October 2022 and continues to list it as an Own Game. This page does not cover The Great Pigsby Megapays or The Great Pigsby Dream Drop, both of which add different jackpot layers.

The consumer game ID is greatpigsbymegaways. The official launcher currently routes that ID to a shared package directory named greatpigsbymegapays, whose metadata identifies “megapigsby” v1.0.14 dated 13 November 2024. Shared code is not permission to merge the products.

The server supplies the active game configuration at login. The static file therefore contains 00.00 placeholders and cannot verify a default RTP. The current product card separately proves that 94% alternative and 90% German settings exist.

The product’s €0.10–€50 range is a supplier reference. It does not prove NZD denominations or New Zealand operator availability.

Seven to the sixth power

Variable reel heights and 117,649 Megaways

The current product card describes a six-reel grid that can display as many as seven symbol positions per reel. When all six reels show seven positions, the mathematical count is 7 × 7 × 7 × 7 × 7 × 7 = 117,649 ways.

The number of ways can change from spin to spin with reel height. It is not a fixed list of drawn paylines and it does not mean 117,649 wins occur. Each way still needs the required matching symbols on consecutive reels under the paytable.

The 2022 announcement calls the display 5×3 while also claiming 117,649 Megaways. Those claims do not fit one another. The newer 6×7 product record and six-reel package data are consistent with the advertised maximum, so this guide uses them and preserves the older wording as a source conflict.

Reel height changes the number of possible combinations, not the active RTP by itself. The return setting remains a separate server configuration.

Expanding Wild collection

Wilds and the Piggy Bank feature selector

When a Wild lands, it expands to cover its reel and is collected in the Piggy Bank above the grid. The official release says the collection can lead to one of three outcomes: Free Spins, a Great Pigsby Respin or a Wild Respin.

Expansion makes the Wild available across more positions on that reel, but it does not automatically create a six-reel match. The final arrangement must still satisfy the ways rules.

The Piggy Bank should be read as a feature mechanism, not as a progressive cash balance. Collected Wilds do not belong to the player outside the documented round, and their count is not money available for withdrawal.

If the bank explodes or selects an outcome, record the triggering Wild, the selected feature and the reel state carried into the result. That sequence helps distinguish the three feature types.

Ten spins

Expanding Wilds and every-second-spin replacement

The feature awards 10 Free Spins with expanding Wilds. Every second feature spin replaces low-value symbols with the same mid- or high-paying symbol, increasing the chance that more positions match on that evaluation.

Replacement occurs according to the rule schedule; it is not a player-selected symbol upgrade. The chosen common symbol and the resulting reel heights still determine whether a payable way forms.

“Every second spin” should be counted within the feature as the help displays it. Added or repeated feature events can affect sequencing, so a deployed client’s counter is more reliable than manual assumptions.

Ten spins do not imply ten wins. Expanding Wilds and symbol replacement increase feature potential while the 20,000x cap and the active probability model continue to govern settlement.

Two separate outcomes

Great Pigsby Respins and Wild Respins

During a Great Pigsby Respin, high-value Pigsby symbols are overlaid on the reels before the result stops. Overlay placement can create additional matching routes, but an added symbol is not itself a guaranteed award.

A Wild Respin instead turns between two and five reels fully Wild. The multiplier displayed on each Wild reel represents how many Wild symbols that reel stands for. This links the multiplier to symbol count in the ways evaluation.

The two respins must not be conflated. One adds premium character symbols; the other changes whole reels into Wilds with stated values. Their visual drama does not alter which rules settle the final prize.

Neither feature is the Megapays jackpot ladder from the separate Megapays game. Exact-title discipline prevents an uncapped jackpot claim from being attached to this 20,000x Megaways release.

Newer record versus launch copy

How the source conflicts are resolved

The current product page calls the game medium volatility; the launch article calls it high. Provider labels can change, and public scales are not standardised. We prioritise the current catalogue label while showing the historical wording rather than averaging them into a made-up “medium-high” grade.

The current page says 6×7; the launch says 5×3. Because 117,649 equals seven positions across six reels, the current wording is internally consistent. The shared package also contains six-symbol paytable counts. The launch layout is treated as outdated or erroneous copy, not silently repeated.

The current product page publishes 94% and 90% alternatives but no default. The package waits for server configuration. We therefore do not promote a commonly quoted 96% number without current first-party help.

These resolutions demonstrate the hierarchy used throughout the site: exact deployed help first, current product record next, dated launch copy after that, and third-party summaries only as question discovery.

Published configurations

RTP, house edge and alternative builds

Relax Gaming's current product page publishes a 94.00% alternative RTP and a 90% German RTP for The Great Pigsby Megaways. The public client package leaves the active percentage to server configuration, so 94.00% is a verified available setting—not a universal default or proof of an operator's build. Subtracting that value from 100% gives a theoretical house edge of 6%. Both numbers describe the same long-run mathematical relationship from opposite directions; they are not separate charges and they are not a forecast for a deposit.

Checked mode or routeTheoretical RTPHow to use it
Current official product card94.00%Published alternative RTP: 13 November 2024
Alternative product build90% German buildGame ID exists; live help must supply the active percentage

A return of 94.00% means that across the model's very large test horizon, average awards correspond to 94.00 units for every 100 units staked. It does not mean a player receives that percentage back after 100 spins. High variation, rare features and capped awards can produce short samples far above or below the designed average.

Alternative game IDs are material even when their exact returns are absent from the public product card. A casino can deploy a lower-RTP build under the same consumer title. We therefore do not label 94.00% “universal” or “guaranteed.” Open the information control in the operator client and look for the percentage after the game has loaded.

Do not infer RTP from a demo balance, one successful bonus, a streaming clip or a site's headline card. A random sample cannot identify the configured model reliably. The useful audit record is the exact title, visible game ID or version, displayed RTP, date and operator client captured together.

Distribution, not prediction

Volatility and maximum-win limits

The current official product page calls the game medium volatility, while the 19 October 2022 launch announcement called it high volatility. We give the newer product label priority for catalogue navigation but preserve the conflict; the exact deployed help should be used if it states a category.

The official 19 October 2022 release advertises a 20,000x maximum. The current product card does not repeat the cap, so confirm the exact live-help wording and unit before relying on it. “Times bet” uses the full paid stake for the initiating round, not one coin, one line or the balance. A $1 hypothetical stake makes the scale easy to understand, but it does not assert that NZD play is offered.

A cap is a settlement limit, not a realistic session target. It provides no countdown, hit schedule or evidence that raising the stake improves the chance per dollar. Previous non-winning spins do not move a random future result closer to the cap. Treat every paid round as new exposure.

Practical risk is also shaped by total stake, spin speed, feature purchases, enhanced-spin options and session length. A lower stake repeated rapidly can expose more money than a higher stake used briefly. Decide the total acceptable loss before opening the game, then use account limits and breaks rather than chasing a feature.

Read the charged amount

Bet range, optional costs and affordability

The product record gives a reference minimum of €0.10 and maximum of €50. Those euro-denominated figures identify the provider's reference build. They do not promise equivalent NZD controls, and an operator can apply different denominations or account limits.

Always read the total bet immediately before a paid action. The interface can show denomination, level, lines and total stake separately. Enhanced spins or bonus-reel options may increase the price of a round, while a feature purchase can cost many multiples of the base stake. The amount leaving the balance is the relevant measure.

A useful pre-session calculation is total bet multiplied by the maximum number of rounds you are prepared to buy, assuming the entire amount can be lost. For a feature purchase, treat the whole displayed price as exposed at once. Do not finance a purchase by increasing the base stake after losses.

Promotional funds do not change the slot's RTP. Wagering requirements, game contribution, maximum-bet rules and cash-out limits sit in the operator's terms. Check them independently, because a bonus can make an otherwise permitted game or stake ineligible.

Interface verification

Mobile help and what a demo can prove

The official web demo loaded a responsive game client and exposed the title, help date, version, rules and return information used here. On a phone, locate the menu, information icon, total bet, balance and paytable before considering a paid round. If text is clipped, rotate the device or expand the help rather than relying on a search result.

A demo can demonstrate symbol movement, feature order, mode selection and interface controls with valueless credits. It cannot establish that a real-money operator accepts players in New Zealand, that the operator uses the same game ID, or that its active RTP matches the demo.

Demo results also cannot validate the long-run RTP. Ten, one hundred or even thousands of observed spins are a noisy sample, especially in a volatile game. A large demo win is not a prediction for paid play and a dry demo sequence is not proof that the published mathematics is wrong.

If desktop and mobile help disagree, pause. Record the exact URL or operator, title, mode, help version and percentages. The mismatch can indicate a cached client, a market build or an update. Current deployed help is stronger evidence than an undated review, but conflicting clients still need clarification.

Separate evidence chain

New Zealand access is not inferred from the demo

Relax Gaming's own-games catalogue and public demo show that the studio publishes The Great Pigsby Megaways. They do not show that a named operator lawfully offers it to a person in New Zealand. Studio publication, aggregation, operator inventory, territorial access and legal status are separate claims.

Before any real-money use, verify the operator's identity, current New Zealand terms, age and location controls, payments, withdrawals, complaints, account limits and self-exclusion tools. A localised page, NZD wallet or country flag is not on its own regulatory proof.

New Zealand's online-gambling position is time-sensitive. Check the Department of Internal Affairs player guidance and our dated legal-status guide at the point of use. This review is about one game's rules and does not provide legal advice.

Even after an operator check, inspect the live game help. A valid operator relationship does not prove the highest RTP, and the right RTP does not prove operator status. Keeping both questions separate prevents a global demo from becoming an unsupported availability claim.

Source reconciliation

What the checked sources establish

The official product page establishes first-party authorship, public release status, layout, reference bets, headline features and the supported market game IDs. The loaded demo supplies the stronger operational evidence for rules, version, displayed RTP, purchase route and win-cap wording.

The current product page and 2022 release conflict on volatility and layout wording: the current record says 6×7 and medium, while the launch says 5×3 and high despite also claiming 117,649 Megaways. The current six-reel statement is mathematically consistent with 7^6 ways and with the shared package paytable, so it controls our grid summary. The package title internally says Megapays because Relax reuses a Pigsby client; the launch game ID and product page remain Megaways.

Third-party reviews were used to find frequent questions and contradictions, not to override the live help. Competitors often print only the largest cap, omit the selected mode, describe alternative IDs as exact RTPs without a source, or treat global demo access as operator availability.

The evidence was checked on 6 October 2026. The date matters: Relax can update a client or product card, and operators can retain another certified build. Future checks should start with the deployed help and compare its identifier, version and return with this record.

We do not add a hit rate, feature frequency, universal volatility score, New Zealand operator claim or exact alternative RTP unless the checked first-party material supports it. An explicit evidence gap is preferable to a precise-looking number copied from another release.

Two-minute audit

Checklist before relying on this guide

  1. Match the full title The Great Pigsby Megaways and developer Relax Gaming.
  2. Confirm game ID greatpigsbymegaways, help date 13 November 2024 and version 1.0.14 shared Pigsby package where shown.
  3. Check the layout: six variable reels with up to seven symbol positions and 117,649 Megaways.
  4. Read feature triggers, reset rules and settlement order in the live help.
  5. Record the active RTP rather than assuming 94.00%.
  6. Recheck the exact maximum wording: 20,000x.
  7. Read the displayed total stake after enabling any option.
  8. Verify operator identity and New Zealand access independently.
  9. Check promotional terms separately from game mathematics.
  10. Set money and time limits that remain acceptable if no feature arrives.

If the live help differs, use that deployed build and send the title, game ID, version, date and screenshot through our corrections process. That evidence lets us update one canonical review without creating duplicate RTP or bonus pages.
