Short answer
Evidence-led verdict
Space Miners is a Relax Gaming first-party title identified in the checked demo as spaceminers. The live help we inspected is dated 10 September 2024 and marked version 1.0.11; the official release record dates the game to 8 February 2022. The rules describe six columns and three rows at the start, opening to six columns and ten rows. Those identifiers matter because lower-return builds and market-specific clients can share the same artwork.
The checked help states a theoretical RTP of 96.47%, equivalent to a 3.53% theoretical house edge. That is the figure for the client opened during this review, not proof that every operator deploys the same build. Relax's product record lists alternative game IDs, so the percentage inside the exact live client remains the controlling value.
The checked help awards 50,000x and ends the relevant round when accumulated wins reach the 50,000x threshold. The current help does not state minimum or maximum stakes. Supplier product-card denominations are not presented as verified NZD limits. The risk profile is high, as labelled in the official release record; return and prize information do not predict whether a feature or large award will occur in a session.
This page confirms studio authorship, current help text and public release status. It does not claim that a New Zealand operator offers the title, that a demo is a local real-money product, or that a displayed euro-denominated reference range will appear as NZD. Those questions require a separate operator and live-client check.

Release status, version and scope
Relax Gaming's first-party product record identifies Space Miners, and the studio's release archive dates the launch to 8 February 2022. The official client checked for this review uses the identifier spaceminers. Its paytable and rules are dated 10 September 2024 and marked version 1.0.11.
The current help controls every numerical statement on this page. The release announcement is used for the date and the studio's high-volatility description, not as a substitute for the later rules. That distinction avoids carrying launch copy forward when a maintained game package gives more precise trigger, return and settlement language.
This is the standard Space Miners game. It is not Space Attacks Dream Drop, another similarly themed Relax title with network jackpot rules. The names, game IDs and mathematical layers must remain separate even when an operator places them in the same science-fiction category.
One canonical guide covers the grid, Power Ups, respins, Free Spins, purchase route, RTP and maximum. It does not create separate “demo,” “RTP” or “bonus” pages that could drift away from version 1.0.11.
729 ways can grow
Blockers hide up to seven extra rows
A paid round begins with six columns and three open rows, giving 729 ways. Matching symbols pay from the leftmost reel across at least three adjacent reels regardless of their vertical positions. When more than one matching symbol appears on a reel, the combinations multiply rather than forming only one line.
Stone blockers cover the positions above and below the starting window. As the mechanics remove those blocks, the same six columns can reach ten open rows. Six reels with ten positions on each reel produce the documented ceiling of 1,000,000 ways.
“Up to” is essential. The game does not start with one million active combinations, and the larger grid is not an extra prize by itself. It creates more possible symbol combinations for later evaluation while the actual outcome remains random.
The rules pay only the longest matching combination for each symbol. A symbol matching across five reels is not also settled again as separate three- and four-reel wins. Reading that rule prevents the displayed ways figure from being mistaken for a count of simultaneous prizes.
Four removal patterns
Power Ups open blocker positions
Every ordinary game round contains two Power Ups hidden in blockers. Removing a blocker that contains one activates the corresponding pattern. Free Spins start with four Power Ups, but their locations and the order in which they are reached still determine how much of the mine opens.
The Cross effect removes blockers in one horizontal and one vertical line. Horizontal clears one row, while Vertical clears one column. The 3x3 effect removes a square area centred on its position where the grid permits.
Power Ups can interact with one another. A first removal can reach another Power Up, which then applies its own pattern. This chain is a rule-driven continuation of the paid round, not a second purchase or a guarantee that every blocker disappears.
The guaranteed numbers describe how many Power Ups the round contains, not how often a particular shape will activate or how many rows will be opened. Version 1.0.11 publishes no probability table for the four types, so assigning percentages to them would be invented precision.
Expansion and re-evaluation
Wild reels and respins build the same round
Wild symbols can appear on every reel and substitute for normal paying symbols. When a Wild lands in an open position, it expands to fill the other open positions on that reel. It does not occupy still-blocked positions merely because the symbol is expanding.
Every achieved win awards a respin. The game can therefore evaluate the enlarged open area again after a paying result, giving blocker removal and Wild expansion room to influence later steps in the same round.
A respin is not a separately charged ordinary spin. The bet is locked when the original round begins, and the continuation belongs to that round's settlement. This matters when applying the maximum-win rule, which covers the accumulated result rather than each visual step independently.
Wild substitution does not extend to Bonus-symbol collection. The help describes Bonus collection separately, so a Wild should not be counted as a missing Bonus or used to invent a feature trigger.
Collection within one round
Three Bonus symbols award six Free Spins
Collecting three Bonus symbols over an ordinary game round triggers six Free Spins. The symbols can be gathered through the continuing respins; the trigger is therefore based on the round, not only one static screen.
Each additional Bonus collected in the main game adds two more spins. The rules cap the initial award from that trigger round at twelve Free Spins. That means the collection schedule is explicit and should not be replaced by a generic “three or more scatters” description.
Positions opened by removing blockers remain open for the duration of Free Spins. This persistence is the central difference from repeatedly restarting the 729-way base layout. Every Free Spin also begins within a round containing four Power Ups rather than the two used in ordinary play.
Bonus symbols during Free Spins add one spin each. The retrigger value is therefore different from the two-spin addition available while building the initial trigger, and the help does not state a guaranteed number of retriggers.
Optional direct entry
The Buy Feature costs 100x where enabled
The current rules document an optional purchase priced at 100 times the regular bet. Activating it guarantees at least three Bonus symbols and entry to the Free Spins round.
The purchase has a separately stated theoretical RTP of 97.14%, compared with 96.47% for ordinary play. Those figures describe long-run models, not the likely return from one 100x transaction.
Buying the feature does not guarantee twelve spins, a fully opened grid, all four Power Up types, a retrigger or a profit. It guarantees only the documented entry condition. The whole purchase price can be lost through the resulting feature.
Feature buying can be unavailable because of jurisdiction, operator policy or account settings. Its presence in the global FUN-credit demo is not evidence that a New Zealand real-money client offers it.
One cap across the round
How the 50,000x threshold is applied
The help says that if total wins in a round reach 50,000 times the initiating bet, the player is awarded 50,000x. In Free Spins, reaching the same threshold ends the feature and fixes the award at the cap.
The reference is the locked round bet. It is not 50,000 times one coin, one symbol value or the FUN balance shown in the supplier demo. A hypothetical one-unit stake illustrates the scale but does not demonstrate that a one-dollar NZD option exists.
Individual symbol values in the paytable are multiplied through ways and relevant Wild combinations before the round total is compared with the cap. The ceiling limits settlement; it does not indicate how frequently a large result occurs.
Incomplete games are documented to resolve automatically after two days. An operator account can have additional transaction, session and withdrawal rules, but those sit outside the slot's game-round mechanics and must not be confused with the 50,000x game cap.
Live-help evidence
RTP, house edge and alternative builds
The information panel in the checked official demo states “the theoretical return to player for this game is 96.47%.” Subtracting that value from 100% gives a theoretical house edge of 3.53%. Both numbers describe the same long-run mathematical relationship from opposite directions; they are not separate charges and they are not a forecast for a deposit.
| Checked mode or route | Theoretical RTP | How to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Base game in official demo | 96.47% | Verified in help: 10 September 2024 |
| Buy Free Spins | 97.14% | Applies only to the documented paid route where available |
A return of 96.47% means that across the model's very large test horizon, average awards correspond to 96.47 units for every 100 units staked. It does not mean a player receives that percentage back after 100 spins. High variation, rare features and capped awards can produce short samples far above or below the designed average.
Alternative game IDs are material even when their exact returns are absent from the public product card. A casino can deploy a lower-RTP build under the same consumer title. We therefore do not label 96.47% “universal” or “guaranteed.” Open the information control in the operator client and look for the percentage after the game has loaded.
The Buy Free Spins is mathematically separate in the checked help: it states 97.14% RTP and costs 100x the selected regular bet. That route can be unavailable in some markets or excluded by an operator. Its published return does not make the option affordable or reduce the possibility of losing the full price.
Do not infer RTP from a demo balance, one successful bonus, a streaming clip or a site's headline card. A random sample cannot identify the configured model reliably. The useful audit record is the exact title, visible game ID or version, displayed RTP, date and operator client captured together.
Distribution, not prediction
Volatility and maximum-win limits
Relax Gaming's 8 February 2022 release labels Space Miners high volatility. The current help does not publish a numerical volatility index, hit rate, Power Up frequency beyond the guaranteed counts, or bonus frequency.
The checked help awards 50,000x and ends the relevant round when accumulated wins reach the 50,000x threshold. “Times bet” uses the full paid stake for the initiating round, not one coin, one line or the balance. A $1 hypothetical stake makes the scale easy to understand, but it does not assert that NZD play is offered.
A cap is a settlement limit, not a realistic session target. It provides no countdown, hit schedule or evidence that raising the stake improves the chance per dollar. Previous non-winning spins do not move a random future result closer to the cap. Treat every paid round as new exposure.
Practical risk is also shaped by total stake, spin speed, feature purchases, enhanced-spin options and session length. A lower stake repeated rapidly can expose more money than a higher stake used briefly. Decide the total acceptable loss before opening the game, then use account limits and breaks rather than chasing a feature.
Read the charged amount
Bet range, optional costs and affordability
Confirm the exact total stake and currency in the deployed client. The demo's FUN-credit selector does not establish an NZD range or operator account limits.
Always read the total bet immediately before a paid action. The interface can show denomination, level, lines and total stake separately. Enhanced spins or bonus-reel options may increase the price of a round, while a feature purchase can cost many multiples of the base stake. The amount leaving the balance is the relevant measure.
A useful pre-session calculation is total bet multiplied by the maximum number of rounds you are prepared to buy, assuming the entire amount can be lost. For a feature purchase, treat the whole displayed price as exposed at once. Do not finance a purchase by increasing the base stake after losses.
Promotional funds do not change the slot's RTP. Wagering requirements, game contribution, maximum-bet rules and cash-out limits sit in the operator's terms. Check them independently, because a bonus can make an otherwise permitted game or stake ineligible.
Interface verification
Mobile help and what a demo can prove
The official web demo loaded a responsive game client and exposed the title, help date, version, rules and return information used here. On a phone, locate the menu, information icon, total bet, balance and paytable before considering a paid round. If text is clipped, rotate the device or expand the help rather than relying on a search result.
A demo can demonstrate symbol movement, feature order, mode selection and interface controls with valueless credits. It cannot establish that a real-money operator accepts players in New Zealand, that the operator uses the same game ID, or that its active RTP matches the demo.
Demo results also cannot validate the long-run RTP. Ten, one hundred or even thousands of observed spins are a noisy sample, especially in a volatile game. A large demo win is not a prediction for paid play and a dry demo sequence is not proof that the published mathematics is wrong.
If desktop and mobile help disagree, pause. Record the exact URL or operator, title, mode, help version and percentages. The mismatch can indicate a cached client, a market build or an update. Current deployed help is stronger evidence than an undated review, but conflicting clients still need clarification.
Separate evidence chain
New Zealand access is not inferred from the demo
Relax Gaming's own-games catalogue and public demo show that the studio publishes Space Miners. They do not show that a named operator lawfully offers it to a person in New Zealand. Studio publication, aggregation, operator inventory, territorial access and legal status are separate claims.
Before any real-money use, verify the operator's identity, current New Zealand terms, age and location controls, payments, withdrawals, complaints, account limits and self-exclusion tools. A localised page, NZD wallet or country flag is not on its own regulatory proof.
New Zealand's online-gambling position is time-sensitive. Check the Department of Internal Affairs player guidance and our dated legal-status guide at the point of use. This review is about one game's rules and does not provide legal advice.
Even after an operator check, inspect the live game help. A valid operator relationship does not prove the highest RTP, and the right RTP does not prove operator status. Keeping both questions separate prevents a global demo from becoming an unsupported availability claim.
Source reconciliation
What the checked sources establish
The official product page establishes first-party authorship, public release status, layout, reference bets, headline features and the supported market game IDs. The loaded demo supplies the stronger operational evidence for rules, version, displayed RTP, purchase route and win-cap wording.
The loaded current help verifies the expanding 729-to-1,000,000-way grid, four blocker Power Ups, expanding Wilds, respins, Bonus collection, Free Spins persistence, the 100x purchase, two RTP routes and the 50,000x cap. It does not state a stake range or prove New Zealand operator availability.
Third-party reviews were used to find frequent questions and contradictions, not to override the live help. Competitors often print only the largest cap, omit the selected mode, describe alternative IDs as exact RTPs without a source, or treat global demo access as operator availability.
The evidence was checked on 6 October 2026. The date matters: Relax can update a client or product card, and operators can retain another certified build. Future checks should start with the deployed help and compare its identifier, version and return with this record.
We do not add a hit rate, feature frequency, universal volatility score, New Zealand operator claim or exact alternative RTP unless the checked first-party material supports it. An explicit evidence gap is preferable to a precise-looking number copied from another release.
Two-minute audit
Checklist before relying on this guide
- Match the full title Space Miners and developer Relax Gaming.
- Confirm game ID spaceminers, help date 10 September 2024 and version 1.0.11 where shown.
- Check the layout: six columns and three rows at the start, opening to six columns and ten rows.
- Read feature triggers, reset rules and settlement order in the live help.
- Record the active RTP rather than assuming 96.47%.
- Recheck the exact maximum wording: 50,000x the round bet.
- Read the displayed total stake after enabling any option.
- Verify operator identity and New Zealand access independently.
- Check promotional terms separately from game mathematics.
- Set money and time limits that remain acceptable if no feature arrives.
If the live help differs, use that deployed build and send the title, game ID, version, date and screenshot through our corrections process. That evidence lets us update one canonical review without creating duplicate RTP or bonus pages.
