Short answer
Evidence-led verdict
Money Train 3 is a Relax Gaming first-party title identified in the checked demo as moneytrain3. The live help we inspected is dated 26 July 2024 and marked version 1.1.4; the official release record dates the game to 22 September 2022. The rules describe five columns and four rows with 40 fixed active paylines, plus a Money Cart board that can expand by two columns. Those identifiers matter because lower-return builds and market-specific clients can share the same artwork.
The checked help states a theoretical RTP of 96.10%, equivalent to a 3.90% theoretical house edge. That is the figure for the client opened during this review, not proof that every operator deploys the same build. Relax's product record lists alternative game IDs, so the percentage inside the exact live client remains the controlling value.
The checked help states that a game round ends at a total win of 100,000x the initiating bet. The reference stake range is €0.10 to €10. The risk profile is High, as labelled in the official release; return and prize information do not predict whether a feature or large award will occur in a session.
This page confirms studio authorship, current help text and public release status. It does not claim that a New Zealand operator offers the title, that a demo is a local real-money product, or that a displayed euro-denominated reference range will appear as NZD. Those questions require a separate operator and live-client check.

Third numbered instalment
Release status and exact Money Train 3 identity
Relax Gaming released Money Train 3 on 22 September 2022 and continues to place it in the Own Games catalogue. The product record identifies the main game as moneytrain3, publishes €0.10–€10 reference stakes and lists alternative 94%, German 90% and UK-suffixed builds.
The client inspected for this guide reports help dated 26/07/2024 and version 1.1.4. It is the numbered third title, not Money Train 4, Money Train 5, Money Cart 3 or a Dream Drop edition. Similar specialist names do not make their grid, values or caps interchangeable.
The release record calls the game high volatility and introduces its broader cast of specialist symbols. That label is first-party evidence about distribution shape, not a forecast that a feature will arrive within a chosen budget.
The global demo and euro-denominated product range establish the supplier reference build only. They do not prove an NZD denomination, New Zealand operator listing or the exact return a casino has activated.
Fixed evaluation
Five-by-four base grid and 40 paylines
Ordinary play uses five reels and four visible rows with all 40 paylines active. Winning combinations begin from the leftmost reel and follow one of the fixed line patterns. A paytable amount must therefore be read with the line map rather than as an anywhere-on-screen scatter value.
The Money Cart feature can open two additional columns, but that expansion belongs to its bonus board. It does not turn the base game into a seven-reel 40-line layout, and it does not retroactively add symbols to an already settled base-game line.
Bonus symbols have trigger duties defined by the feature rules. They should not be treated as ordinary high symbols unless the paytable expressly awards them. Gold Persistent versions can substitute in the trigger and then carry their documented specialist action into the bonus.
Line awards, the Respin Feature and the Money Cart trigger are separate checks. The result screen can be visually busy, so the reliable method is to follow the help order: evaluate base lines, identify an eligible respin state, then resolve any qualifying bonus trigger.
Selected symbols stay
Base-game Respin Feature and collected multipliers
After an eligible non-winning base spin, the game can select one ordinary symbol type. Existing copies remain in place while the other positions re-spin. New copies of the selected symbol lock; multiplier symbols carrying +1, +2 or +3 are collected rather than filling a sticky position.
Landing either another selected symbol or a multiplier awards another re-spin. If neither type appears, the sequence ends. The accumulated multiplier is applied to the final selected-symbol line win under the feature rules.
This is a conditional extension of one round, not an independent bet progression. A run of blanks does not improve the probability of the next round, and visible multiplier values do not become cash unless the final held-symbol pattern produces the corresponding payline result.
The respin sequence is separate from Money Cart. A user should not carry its selected symbol or multiplier into the bonus unless the current help explicitly says so. The v1.1.4 rules document no such transfer.
Three-spin reset model
Money Cart trigger, resets and two column unlocks
Three or more Bonus symbols trigger Money Cart. The feature starts with three spins; every newly landed symbol resets the counter to three. Gold Persistent trigger symbols substitute for Bonus symbols and perform their action before the first feature spin.
Filling the active area can unlock an extra column, with a second column available after further progress. Symbols revealed or placed in the expanded area then participate in the specialist sequence. The board can therefore reach seven columns even though the ordinary game has five reels.
Values are multiples of the initiating total bet. New value and feature symbols hold on the board, while empty spaces re-spin. When three consecutive spins add nothing, the round proceeds to final specialist resolution and collection subject to the cap.
An unlocked column is extra opportunity, not a guaranteed profit. The feature can end with modest values, and a large-looking collection can still be small relative to a 100× or 500× purchase price.
Actions have an order
Collectors, Payers, Snipers and persistent specialists
Collector gathers eligible values from the board. Sniper doubles between three and eight targets. Collector-Payer first absorbs and then redistributes its updated value, while Necromancer can reactivate eligible used specialists. Absorber takes values from specified nearby positions.
Tommy Gun Sniper chooses one target and doubles it two to six times. Tommy Gun Payer reveals a 5×–100× amount and adds that value to targets three to ten times. Those ranges describe possible feature actions, not a promised minimum outcome.
Persistent Collector, Sniper, Collector-Payer and Necromancer remain available for repeated action under the help rules. Persistent Shapeshifter can change role, so the final effect depends on the exact board state and execution order.
Because one specialist can change a value before another acts, screenshots of the final board do not reconstruct the sequence by themselves. Use the in-game history where available and read actions in the order shown by the client.
Four prices, one verified route RTP
20×, 50×, 100× and 500× purchase routes
The one-spin route costs 20× the regular bet and starts a shortened Money Cart attempt. The two-spin route costs 50×. Original Feature costs 100× and starts the full standard feature, while Persistent Feature costs 500× and guarantees an eligible persistent specialist at entry.
The checked help assigns 96.50% theoretical RTP to each purchase route. That shared long-run percentage does not make the cash risk equivalent: a single 500× action exposes five times the price of the 100× route and twenty-five times the 20× route.
A purchase guarantees the stated entry condition, not a return of its cost. The persistent option guarantees a qualifying symbol, not a profitable combination with the rest of the board. It can still settle below the purchase price.
Operator and market controls can remove purchase buttons. Promotional terms can also set a maximum stake or exclude feature purchases. The official fun client proves the documented model, not availability or eligibility in a specific New Zealand account.
Live-help evidence
RTP, house edge and alternative builds
The information panel in the checked official demo states “the theoretical return to player for this game is 96.10%.” Subtracting that value from 100% gives a theoretical house edge of 3.90%. Both numbers describe the same long-run mathematical relationship from opposite directions; they are not separate charges and they are not a forecast for a deposit.
| Checked mode or route | Theoretical RTP | How to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Base game in official demo | 96.10% | Verified in help: 26 July 2024 |
| Four documented purchases | 96.50% | Applies only to the documented paid route where available |
| Alternative product build | 94% alternative product build | Game ID exists; live help must supply the active percentage |
| Alternative product build | 90% German product build | Game ID exists; live help must supply the active percentage |
| Alternative product build | moneytrain3_92 — exact help percentage required | Game ID exists; live help must supply the active percentage |
A return of 96.10% means that across the model's very large test horizon, average awards correspond to 96.10 units for every 100 units staked. It does not mean a player receives that percentage back after 100 spins. High variation, rare features and capped awards can produce short samples far above or below the designed average.
Alternative game IDs are material even when their exact returns are absent from the public product card. A casino can deploy a lower-RTP build under the same consumer title. We therefore do not label 96.10% “universal” or “guaranteed.” Open the information control in the operator client and look for the percentage after the game has loaded.
The Four documented purchases is mathematically separate in the checked help: it states 96.50% RTP and costs 20x, 50x, 100x or 500x, depending on route. That route can be unavailable in some markets or excluded by an operator. Its published return does not make the option affordable or reduce the possibility of losing the full price.
Do not infer RTP from a demo balance, one successful bonus, a streaming clip or a site's headline card. A random sample cannot identify the configured model reliably. The useful audit record is the exact title, visible game ID or version, displayed RTP, date and operator client captured together.
Distribution, not prediction
Volatility and maximum-win limits
The available first-party and live-help evidence supports a High, as labelled in the official release risk profile. Volatility concerns how unevenly the mathematical return is distributed: a volatile game can devote more of its return to uncommon events and leave long stretches with small awards or none. It is not a timetable for a bonus and it does not show that a loss is “due” to reverse.
The checked help states that a game round ends at a total win of 100,000x the initiating bet. “Times bet” uses the full paid stake for the initiating round, not one coin, one line or the balance. A $1 hypothetical stake makes the scale easy to understand, but it does not assert that NZD play is offered.
A cap is a settlement limit, not a realistic session target. It provides no countdown, hit schedule or evidence that raising the stake improves the chance per dollar. Previous non-winning spins do not move a random future result closer to the cap. Treat every paid round as new exposure.
Practical risk is also shaped by total stake, spin speed, feature purchases, enhanced-spin options and session length. A lower stake repeated rapidly can expose more money than a higher stake used briefly. Decide the total acceptable loss before opening the game, then use account limits and breaks rather than chasing a feature.
Read the charged amount
Bet range, optional costs and affordability
The product record gives a reference minimum of €0.10 and maximum of €10. Those euro-denominated figures identify the provider's reference build. They do not promise equivalent NZD controls, and an operator can apply different denominations or account limits.
Always read the total bet immediately before a paid action. The interface can show denomination, level, lines and total stake separately. Enhanced spins or bonus-reel options may increase the price of a round, while a feature purchase can cost many multiples of the base stake. The amount leaving the balance is the relevant measure.
A useful pre-session calculation is total bet multiplied by the maximum number of rounds you are prepared to buy, assuming the entire amount can be lost. For a feature purchase, treat the whole displayed price as exposed at once. Do not finance a purchase by increasing the base stake after losses.
Promotional funds do not change the slot's RTP. Wagering requirements, game contribution, maximum-bet rules and cash-out limits sit in the operator's terms. Check them independently, because a bonus can make an otherwise permitted game or stake ineligible.
Interface verification
Mobile help and what a demo can prove
The official web demo loaded a responsive game client and exposed the title, help date, version, rules and return information used here. On a phone, locate the menu, information icon, total bet, balance and paytable before considering a paid round. If text is clipped, rotate the device or expand the help rather than relying on a search result.
A demo can demonstrate symbol movement, feature order, mode selection and interface controls with valueless credits. It cannot establish that a real-money operator accepts players in New Zealand, that the operator uses the same game ID, or that its active RTP matches the demo.
Demo results also cannot validate the long-run RTP. Ten, one hundred or even thousands of observed spins are a noisy sample, especially in a volatile game. A large demo win is not a prediction for paid play and a dry demo sequence is not proof that the published mathematics is wrong.
If desktop and mobile help disagree, pause. Record the exact URL or operator, title, mode, help version and percentages. The mismatch can indicate a cached client, a market build or an update. Current deployed help is stronger evidence than an undated review, but conflicting clients still need clarification.
Separate evidence chain
New Zealand access is not inferred from the demo
Relax Gaming's own-games catalogue and public demo show that the studio publishes Money Train 3. They do not show that a named operator lawfully offers it to a person in New Zealand. Studio publication, aggregation, operator inventory, territorial access and legal status are separate claims.
Before any real-money use, verify the operator's identity, current New Zealand terms, age and location controls, payments, withdrawals, complaints, account limits and self-exclusion tools. A localised page, NZD wallet or country flag is not on its own regulatory proof.
New Zealand's online-gambling position is time-sensitive. Check the Department of Internal Affairs player guidance and our dated legal-status guide at the point of use. This review is about one game's rules and does not provide legal advice.
Even after an operator check, inspect the live game help. A valid operator relationship does not prove the highest RTP, and the right RTP does not prove operator status. Keeping both questions separate prevents a global demo from becoming an unsupported availability claim.
Source reconciliation
What the checked sources establish
The official product page establishes first-party authorship, public release status, layout, reference bets, headline features and the supported market game IDs. The loaded demo supplies the stronger operational evidence for rules, version, displayed RTP, purchase route and win-cap wording.
The current v1.1.4 help directly verifies 40 active paylines, the selected-symbol Respin Feature, the expandable Money Cart board, four purchase prices, 96.10% base RTP, 96.50% purchase RTP and the 100,000x cap. The product card exposes lower-return IDs but does not make the inspected 96.10% universal.
Third-party reviews were used to find frequent questions and contradictions, not to override the live help. Competitors often print only the largest cap, omit the selected mode, describe alternative IDs as exact RTPs without a source, or treat global demo access as operator availability.
The evidence was checked on 6 October 2026. The date matters: Relax can update a client or product card, and operators can retain another certified build. Future checks should start with the deployed help and compare its identifier, version and return with this record.
We do not add a hit rate, feature frequency, universal volatility score, New Zealand operator claim or exact alternative RTP unless the checked first-party material supports it. An explicit evidence gap is preferable to a precise-looking number copied from another release.
Two-minute audit
