Short answer

Evidence-led verdict

Dead Riders Trail is a Relax Gaming first-party title identified in the checked demo as deadriderstrail. the checked client help is dated 12 June 2025 and marked version 1.0.11; the product title is “Dead Riders Trail” while the help screen uses “Dead Rider's Trail” for the same deadriderstrail ID; the current product card lists a Romania release date of 14 September 2022, while no exact global launch article was found in the official archive. The rules describe six columns and six rows with up to 46,656 ways, cascades and 3–24 starting stone blocks. Those identifiers matter because lower-return builds and market-specific clients can share the same artwork.

The checked help states a theoretical RTP of 96.20%, equivalent to a 3.80% theoretical house edge. That is the figure for the client opened during this review, not proof that every operator deploys the same build. Relax's product record lists alternative game IDs, so the percentage inside the exact live client remains the controlling value.

The checked help caps Bonus Trail and Super Bonus Trail at 50,000x total bet. It does not clearly publish that sentence as a universal ordinary-game cap, so the narrower feature scope is retained. The reference stake range is €0.20 to €20. The risk profile is Volatile, as described on the official product page; return and prize information do not predict whether a feature or large award will occur in a session.

This page confirms studio authorship, current help text and public release status. It does not claim that a New Zealand operator offers the title, that a demo is a local real-money product, or that a displayed euro-denominated reference range will appear as NZD. Those questions require a separate operator and live-client check.

One ID, two punctuation styles

Exact title, package and release evidence

The official product page and assigned canonical title use Dead Riders Trail. The loaded v1.0.11 help renders Dead Rider's Trail. Both use the same deadriderstrail identifier, artwork and rules, so the punctuation difference is documented rather than treated as another game.

The product record lists a Romania release date of 14 September 2022. We did not find a matching global launch article in Relax's official news archive, so this guide does not upgrade that market-specific field into a universal launch date.

The checked help is dated 12/06/2025. It supplies the operational evidence for RTP, wheel probabilities, feature purchases and Trail rules. The product page supplies first-party authorship, volatile positioning, reference bets and a German 90% build.

Those sources still do not prove a New Zealand operator carries the title. A global fun client and supplier catalogue are separate from operator inventory and territorial access.

Adjacent-reel combinations

Six-by-six grid, 46,656 ways and cascades

The base game uses six reels and six rows, with up to 46,656 ways. Matching symbols pay on adjacent reels beginning with reel one. Wilds can substitute on reels two through six according to the paytable.

After a win, contributing symbols disappear and new symbols fall into their positions. This cascade process can create another win without a new paid stake. The sequence ends when the new grid produces no further award.

Ways and cascades are distinct concepts: ways define which symbol arrangements pay, while cascades describe what happens after a win. Neither term means that every repeated symbol anywhere on the six-by-six board contributes.

The block-clearing system is layered over cascades. A winning group can damage adjacent stone positions, but the block itself is not an ordinary pay symbol and must not be counted toward a way.

Clear the active obstruction map

Three to twenty-four stone blocks and bombs

An ordinary round begins with between three and twenty-four stone blocks. Winning symbols adjacent to a block damage or remove it under the rules. Cascades therefore create opportunities to continue clearing during the same paid round.

Removing every block triggers the Feature Wheel. Clearing most of the board is not enough, and a high ordinary win cannot substitute for the all-block condition. The trigger is a board-state event rather than a random purchase-equivalent award.

During Free Spins, bombs can land on block positions. An adjacent win activates a bomb, and the corresponding reel transforms to the symbol that produces the largest available win. Clearing the complete block field in Free Spins adds three spins.

The initial block count creates visibly different rounds, but it is not a progress meter stored between paid spins. A nearly cleared previous board does not carry into the next ordinary round unless the current client explicitly shows an ongoing feature state.

Four stated outcomes

Feature Wheel and the optional risk decision

Once all blocks are removed, the wheel can award four Free Spins, seven Free Spins, Bonus Trail or Super Bonus Trail. These are distinct routes with different mechanics and should not be summarised as one generic bonus.

If the wheel awards four or seven Free Spins, the help offers an optional gamble for Bonus Trail. The stated success chance is 33% from the four-spin result and 52% from the seven-spin result.

Success replaces the Free Spins award with Bonus Trail. Failure returns to base play without the wheel feature. The player is therefore risking an already awarded feature, not receiving a cost-free chance to add another one.

The displayed probability is enough to explain the choice, but not to create a recovery strategy. Repeating a 33% or 52% decision does not make a later success due, and previous losses do not change the published chance.

Blocks become feature targets

Free Spins bombs, reel transforms and extensions

Free Spins begin with the wheel's four- or seven-spin award. The block field remains central: bombs can occupy blocks, and a win beside a bomb activates the reel transformation.

The transformed reel uses the symbol calculated to produce the largest award for the current state. That wording does not mean a maximum game win or a guaranteed premium symbol on every spin; it describes the specific bomb resolution.

Clearing all active blocks awards three additional spins. The extension requires the complete clear and is not granted per bomb, per cascade or per transformed reel.

Because the wheel can start with different spin counts and the feature can extend, one session screenshot does not identify the route by counter alone. Record the wheel result and use history to reconstruct bomb and extension events.

Fuel-limited board movement

Bonus Trail and Super Bonus Trail

Bonus Trail uses a 39-tile board. The rider begins with three fuel and moves one to six spaces. Normal tiles carry values, while truck tiles apply their documented collection or improvement effects.

Fuel determines how long movement can continue. Completing a lap adds three fuel and multiplies normal-tile values by three. The help caps an individual tile value at 1,000×, while the overall Trail feature is capped at 50,000×.

Silver and golden trucks have different roles. Super Bonus Trail improves the starting state by replacing the nearest silver truck with a golden truck; it does not guarantee that the upgraded position will be reached before fuel ends.

Persistent effects remain for the current Trail feature under the rules, not across future paid games. Board values can grow substantially, but unused or unreached value is not automatically collected when fuel runs out.

Feature entry and probability are separate

50×, 90× and 250× purchases

Feature Wheel costs 50× the base stake and produces one of the wheel routes. Bonus Trail costs 90× and enters that board directly. Super Bonus Trail costs 250× and begins with the documented golden-truck improvement.

The help assigns 96.50% theoretical RTP to all three purchases. A shared long-run return does not equal shared affordability: the 250× action exposes five times the Feature Wheel price in one decision.

Buying the wheel does not remove its result distribution, and buying a Trail does not guarantee enough fuel to reach a valuable truck. The price buys the named starting state only.

Feature purchases and wheel gambles can be restricted by an operator or market. Their presence in the supplier demo is not proof they are available, permitted with promotional funds or suitable for a player's budget.

Live-help evidence

RTP, house edge and alternative builds

The information panel in the checked official demo states “the theoretical return to player for this game is 96.20%.” Subtracting that value from 100% gives a theoretical house edge of 3.80%. Both numbers describe the same long-run mathematical relationship from opposite directions; they are not separate charges and they are not a forecast for a deposit.

Checked mode or routeTheoretical RTPHow to use it
Base game in official demo96.20%Verified in help: 12 June 2025
Three documented purchases96.50%Applies only to the documented paid route where available
Alternative product build90% German product buildGame ID exists; live help must supply the active percentage

A return of 96.20% means that across the model's very large test horizon, average awards correspond to 96.20 units for every 100 units staked. It does not mean a player receives that percentage back after 100 spins. High variation, rare features and capped awards can produce short samples far above or below the designed average.

Alternative game IDs are material even when their exact returns are absent from the public product card. A casino can deploy a lower-RTP build under the same consumer title. We therefore do not label 96.20% “universal” or “guaranteed.” Open the information control in the operator client and look for the percentage after the game has loaded.

The Three documented purchases is mathematically separate in the checked help: it states 96.50% RTP and costs 50x for Feature Wheel, 90x for Bonus Trail or 250x for Super Bonus Trail. That route can be unavailable in some markets or excluded by an operator. Its published return does not make the option affordable or reduce the possibility of losing the full price.

Do not infer RTP from a demo balance, one successful bonus, a streaming clip or a site's headline card. A random sample cannot identify the configured model reliably. The useful audit record is the exact title, visible game ID or version, displayed RTP, date and operator client captured together.

Distribution, not prediction

Volatility and maximum-win limits

The available first-party and live-help evidence supports a Volatile, as described on the official product page risk profile. Volatility concerns how unevenly the mathematical return is distributed: a volatile game can devote more of its return to uncommon events and leave long stretches with small awards or none. It is not a timetable for a bonus and it does not show that a loss is “due” to reverse.

The checked help caps Bonus Trail and Super Bonus Trail at 50,000x total bet. It does not clearly publish that sentence as a universal ordinary-game cap, so the narrower feature scope is retained. “Times bet” uses the full paid stake for the initiating round, not one coin, one line or the balance. A $1 hypothetical stake makes the scale easy to understand, but it does not assert that NZD play is offered.

A cap is a settlement limit, not a realistic session target. It provides no countdown, hit schedule or evidence that raising the stake improves the chance per dollar. Previous non-winning spins do not move a random future result closer to the cap. Treat every paid round as new exposure.

Practical risk is also shaped by total stake, spin speed, feature purchases, enhanced-spin options and session length. A lower stake repeated rapidly can expose more money than a higher stake used briefly. Decide the total acceptable loss before opening the game, then use account limits and breaks rather than chasing a feature.

Read the charged amount

Bet range, optional costs and affordability

The product record gives a reference minimum of €0.20 and maximum of €20. Those euro-denominated figures identify the provider's reference build. They do not promise equivalent NZD controls, and an operator can apply different denominations or account limits.

Always read the total bet immediately before a paid action. The interface can show denomination, level, lines and total stake separately. Enhanced spins or bonus-reel options may increase the price of a round, while a feature purchase can cost many multiples of the base stake. The amount leaving the balance is the relevant measure.

A useful pre-session calculation is total bet multiplied by the maximum number of rounds you are prepared to buy, assuming the entire amount can be lost. For a feature purchase, treat the whole displayed price as exposed at once. Do not finance a purchase by increasing the base stake after losses.

Promotional funds do not change the slot's RTP. Wagering requirements, game contribution, maximum-bet rules and cash-out limits sit in the operator's terms. Check them independently, because a bonus can make an otherwise permitted game or stake ineligible.

Interface verification

Mobile help and what a demo can prove

The official web demo loaded a responsive game client and exposed the title, help date, version, rules and return information used here. On a phone, locate the menu, information icon, total bet, balance and paytable before considering a paid round. If text is clipped, rotate the device or expand the help rather than relying on a search result.

A demo can demonstrate symbol movement, feature order, mode selection and interface controls with valueless credits. It cannot establish that a real-money operator accepts players in New Zealand, that the operator uses the same game ID, or that its active RTP matches the demo.

Demo results also cannot validate the long-run RTP. Ten, one hundred or even thousands of observed spins are a noisy sample, especially in a volatile game. A large demo win is not a prediction for paid play and a dry demo sequence is not proof that the published mathematics is wrong.

If desktop and mobile help disagree, pause. Record the exact URL or operator, title, mode, help version and percentages. The mismatch can indicate a cached client, a market build or an update. Current deployed help is stronger evidence than an undated review, but conflicting clients still need clarification.

Separate evidence chain

New Zealand access is not inferred from the demo

Relax Gaming's own-games catalogue and public demo show that the studio publishes Dead Riders Trail. They do not show that a named operator lawfully offers it to a person in New Zealand. Studio publication, aggregation, operator inventory, territorial access and legal status are separate claims.

Before any real-money use, verify the operator's identity, current New Zealand terms, age and location controls, payments, withdrawals, complaints, account limits and self-exclusion tools. A localised page, NZD wallet or country flag is not on its own regulatory proof.

New Zealand's online-gambling position is time-sensitive. Check the Department of Internal Affairs player guidance and our dated legal-status guide at the point of use. This review is about one game's rules and does not provide legal advice.

Even after an operator check, inspect the live game help. A valid operator relationship does not prove the highest RTP, and the right RTP does not prove operator status. Keeping both questions separate prevents a global demo from becoming an unsupported availability claim.

Source reconciliation

What the checked sources establish

The official product page establishes first-party authorship, public release status, layout, reference bets, headline features and the supported market game IDs. The loaded demo supplies the stronger operational evidence for rules, version, displayed RTP, purchase route and win-cap wording.

The v1.0.11 help verifies the 6×6/46,656-way cascade game, 3–24 blocks, Feature Wheel results, 33% and 52% gamble probabilities, 39-tile Trail board, 96.20% base RTP, 96.50% purchase RTP and a 50,000x cap scoped to both Trail bonuses. The product card uses Dead Riders Trail while the client help renders Dead Rider's Trail; both resolve to deadriderstrail.

Third-party reviews were used to find frequent questions and contradictions, not to override the live help. Competitors often print only the largest cap, omit the selected mode, describe alternative IDs as exact RTPs without a source, or treat global demo access as operator availability.

The evidence was checked on 6 October 2026. The date matters: Relax can update a client or product card, and operators can retain another certified build. Future checks should start with the deployed help and compare its identifier, version and return with this record.

We do not add a hit rate, feature frequency, universal volatility score, New Zealand operator claim or exact alternative RTP unless the checked first-party material supports it. An explicit evidence gap is preferable to a precise-looking number copied from another release.

Two-minute audit

Checklist before relying on this guide

  1. Match the full title Dead Riders Trail and developer Relax Gaming.
  2. Confirm game ID deadriderstrail, help date 12 June 2025 and version 1.0.11 where shown.
  3. Check the layout: six columns and six rows with up to 46,656 ways, cascades and 3–24 starting stone blocks.
  4. Read feature triggers, reset rules and settlement order in the live help.
  5. Record the active RTP rather than assuming 96.20%.
  6. Recheck the exact maximum wording: 50,000x in Bonus Trail and Super Bonus Trail.
  7. Read the displayed total stake after enabling any option.
  8. Verify operator identity and New Zealand access independently.
  9. Check promotional terms separately from game mathematics.
  10. Set money and time limits that remain acceptable if no feature arrives.

If the live help differs, use that deployed build and send the title, game ID, version, date and screenshot through our corrections process. That evidence lets us update one canonical review without creating duplicate RTP or bonus pages.

Questions answered

Frequently asked questions

What is the Dead Riders Trail RTP?

The official v1.0.11 help dated 12 June 2025 states 96.20% for ordinary play and 96.50% for each of the three feature-purchase routes.

How is the Feature Wheel reached?

The game begins with 3–24 stone blocks. Winning cascades remove adjacent blocks; clearing every block triggers a wheel offering 4 Free Spins, 7 Free Spins, Bonus Trail or Super Bonus Trail.

What are the Feature Wheel gamble odds?

The checked help shows 33% success when risking 4 Free Spins and 52% when risking 7 Free Spins. Success moves to Bonus Trail; failure returns to base play without a feature.

How does Bonus Trail work?

It is a 39-tile board with three starting fuel, 1–6-space movement, normal tiles and trucks. Completing a lap adds three fuel and triples normal-tile values; the tile-value cap is 1,000×.

What is the maximum win?

The help states a 50,000× cap for Bonus Trail and Super Bonus Trail. It does not clearly label that wording as one universal base-game cap, so this guide preserves the narrower scope.
