Nugget Ridge: rules, features and verified RTP

Nugget Ridge is a 5×3, 15-payline Relax Gaming slot released on 3 September 2026. TNT can expand upward into Wilds, two Bonus symbols start Sticky-Wild respins, and 3–5 Bonus symbols award 7–11 Free Spins whose stored positions become multiplier Wilds on the final spin. Official demo help v1.0.5 states 96.36% RTP and a 10,000x cap.

Short answer

Evidence-led verdict

Nugget Ridge is a Relax Gaming first-party title identified in the checked demo as nuggetridge. The live help we inspected is dated 29 September 2026 and marked version 1.0.5; the official release record dates the game to 3 September 2026. The rules describe a five-reel, three-row video slot with fifteen fixed paylines. Those identifiers matter because lower-return builds and market-specific clients can share the same artwork.

The checked help states a theoretical RTP of 96.36%, equivalent to a 3.64% theoretical house edge. That is the figure for the client opened during this review, not proof that every operator deploys the same build. Relax's product record lists alternative game IDs, so the percentage inside the exact live client remains the controlling value.

The documented maximum is 10,000x the total bet. The reference stake range is €0.10 to €100. The risk profile is not quantified in the checked help; public summaries conflict, so no numeric score is assigned; a published ceiling and return percentage do not predict whether a feature or large award will occur in a session.

This page confirms studio authorship, current help text and public release status. It does not claim that a New Zealand operator offers the title, that a demo is a local real-money product, or that a displayed euro-denominated reference range will appear as NZD. Those questions require a separate operator and live-client check.

September 2026 release

Release status and checked build

Relax Gaming released Nugget Ridge on 3 September 2026 and lists it in the studio's own-games catalogue. That is first-party development evidence. The game should not be reassigned to one of Relax's distribution partners simply because the company also operates an aggregation platform.

The public demo loaded as game ID “nuggetridge.” Its help panel showed “29/09/2026 1.0.5,” a later operational record than the launch announcement. This guide uses that help for every numerical rule. Marketing copy is used only for release context and a plain-language feature overview.

The game uses five reels, three rows and 15 paylines, all active on every spin. The reference bet range is €0.10 to €100. Those euro values identify the provider's demo build; they do not claim an NZD denomination or a New Zealand operator listing.

Alternative IDs exist for lower-return and market-specific builds. The exact operator client can therefore differ while retaining the same title and artwork. Match the live RTP and version rather than assuming the public demo's 96.36% applies everywhere.

Fifteen fixed lines

How ordinary combinations pay

Wins are evaluated consecutively on a payline beginning from the leftmost reel. The highest qualifying combination is paid on each line and awards from multiple paylines are added. The Wild substitutes for ordinary paying symbols; feature-trigger Bonus symbols follow their own rules.

The grid includes a colossal Wild that occupies four normal symbol positions. Its larger footprint can participate in more than one line, but each line still needs a valid left-to-right combination. A large symbol is not an additional multiplier unless the feature rules explicitly assign one.

The paid spin locks the selected total bet once started. Feature respins and Free Spins continue from that initiating stake without another base-game charge. After they settle, the next ordinary spin is a new financial exposure.

The help states a 10,000x cap for a spin and notes that it is effectively applicable only on the final Free Spins spin. That wording is more precise than a headline “win up to” badge: the ceiling is tied to the mechanic where stored positions transform together.

TNT detonator

Expanding Wilds and the no-win condition

When a TNT detonator lands in the base game, it expands upward and transforms positions into Wilds. The current rules add an important condition: if expansion would not create a win, the symbol does not expand. A screenshot of an unexpanded detonator is therefore not evidence of a broken feature.

Expansion travels upward from the landing position rather than filling an arbitrary reel from both directions. The created Wilds substitute during line evaluation. They do not become sticky unless a separate respin rule applies.

The colossal Wild and TNT expansion are distinct. One is a four-position symbol landing on the grid; the other is a detonator that creates additional Wild positions above it. Combining their descriptions would obscure when the game should animate and which positions actually substitute.

These Wild mechanics are included in the 96.36% model. A visibly dramatic expansion does not prove a higher return setting or a future feature trigger. It resolves the current random result only.

Exactly two Bonus symbols

Sticky-Wild Respin feature

Landing two Bonus symbols in the base game triggers the Respin feature. The two triggering symbols convert to Sticky Wilds. Other positions respin while those Wilds remain locked, giving the grid another chance to form line awards around them.

Every additional Wild that lands awards an additional respin, and all Wilds remain sticky. The feature can therefore extend when a new Wild appears. An ordinary paying symbol does not reset the feature counter unless it also satisfies the documented Wild condition.

The two-symbol trigger is deliberately different from the three-or-more Bonus trigger for Free Spins. A review that describes every pair as “almost Free Spins” misses the fact that it starts a complete, separately ruled feature.

Sticky positions improve line connectivity but do not guarantee a paying combination. When the awarded respins end without another Wild, the sequence settles and returns to the base game. No progress meter transfers to a later paid round.

7, 9 or 11

Free Spins triggers and retriggers

Three Bonus symbols trigger 7 Free Spins, four trigger 9, and five trigger 11. The trigger symbols are also stored in their exact positions for the final-spin mechanic. This is not a generic ten-spin award and should not be rounded into one.

During the feature, landing three or more additional Bonus symbols awards 3 extra spins. Those new Bonus symbols are also stored. The rules do not say that one or two Bonus symbols add spins, although they still contribute to the stored position counts.

The spin counter and stored grid have separate jobs. The counter determines how many feature rounds remain; the stored positions determine the Wild multipliers created on the last one. A retrigger adds time and can add stored symbols, but it does not immediately pay every stored value.

Every awarded spin uses the initiating total bet as its stake reference. There is no second charge during naturally triggered Free Spins. A purchased feature is different because the 60x price is paid up front.

Stored-position conversion

How final-spin multiplier Wilds combine

On the final spin, every position that stored one or more Bonus symbols converts to a Wild. The multiplier on that Wild equals the number of Bonus symbols accumulated at that position, with a maximum of 5x on one position.

If several multiplier Wilds participate on the same payline, their values multiply together. The help gives 2×3×4 = 24x as an example. That product applies to the qualifying line award; it is not three separate cash prizes and it is not added to unrelated lines.

Trigger symbols count toward storage, as do Bonus symbols landed later in the feature. A position can therefore reach a higher multiplier through repeated collections over different spins. The player cannot choose which position receives the next random Bonus.

The help links the 10,000x cap effectively to this final spin. If the sum reaches or exceeds the cap, settlement is limited to 10,000x bet. The cap does not imply that enough stored positions will appear to approach it in an ordinary feature.

Separate route

Buy Feature cost and return

Where the control is enabled, the Buy Feature can be activated only from the base game. It costs 60x the regular bet and guarantees at least three Bonus symbols and entry to the Free Spins round. It does not guarantee more than the minimum seven-spin trigger or a profit.

The checked help states a 97.00% theoretical return for the Buy Feature, compared with 96.36% for the ordinary game. Those percentages belong to distinct routes. They should not be averaged together, and the higher buy figure does not make a 60x purchase safe.

At a hypothetical $1 base stake, a 60x purchase exposes $60 immediately. That example explains the multiplier; it does not recommend a stake or assert NZD availability. A single feature can return less than its price, including zero in cash terms beyond any minimum pay rules shown in the live client.

Bonus purchases can be disabled by jurisdiction, operator or promotional terms. If the control is missing, do not seek an unverified clone. Use the exact deployed help and keep the ordinary feature trigger separate from the purchase route.

Live-help evidence

RTP, house edge and alternative builds

The information panel in the checked official demo states “the theoretical return to player for this game is 96.36%.” Subtracting that value from 100% gives a theoretical house edge of 3.64%. Both numbers describe the same long-run mathematical relationship from opposite directions; they are not separate charges and they are not a forecast for a deposit.

Checked mode or routeTheoretical RTPHow to use it
Base game in official demo96.36%Verified in help: 29 September 2026
Buy Feature97.00%Applies only to the documented paid route where available

A return of 96.36% means that across the model's very large test horizon, average awards correspond to 96.36 units for every 100 units staked. It does not mean a player receives that percentage back after 100 spins. High variation, rare features and capped awards can produce short samples far above or below the designed average.

Alternative game IDs are material even when their exact returns are absent from the public product card. A casino can deploy a lower-RTP build under the same consumer title. We therefore do not label 96.36% “universal” or “guaranteed.” Open the information control in the operator client and look for the percentage after the game has loaded.

The Buy Feature is mathematically separate in the checked help: it states 97.00% RTP and costs 60x the regular bet. That route can be unavailable in some markets or excluded by an operator. Its published return does not make the option affordable or reduce the possibility of losing the full price.

Do not infer RTP from a demo balance, one successful bonus, a streaming clip or a site's headline card. A random sample cannot identify the configured model reliably. The useful audit record is the exact title, visible game ID or version, displayed RTP, date and operator client captured together.

Distribution, not prediction

Volatility and maximum-win limits

The available first-party and live-help evidence supports a not quantified in the checked help; public summaries conflict, so no numeric score is assigned risk profile. Volatility concerns how unevenly the mathematical return is distributed: a volatile game can devote more of its return to uncommon events and leave long stretches with small awards or none. It is not a timetable for a bonus and it does not show that a loss is “due” to reverse.

The checked maximum is 10,000x total bet. “Times bet” uses the full paid stake for the initiating round, not one coin, one line or the balance. A $1 hypothetical stake makes the cap easy to understand, but it does not assert that NZD play is offered.

A cap is a settlement limit, not a realistic session target. It provides no countdown, hit schedule or evidence that raising the stake improves the chance per dollar. Previous non-winning spins do not move a random future result closer to the cap. Treat every paid round as new exposure.

Practical risk is also shaped by total stake, spin speed, feature purchases, enhanced-spin options and session length. A lower stake repeated rapidly can expose more money than a higher stake used briefly. Decide the total acceptable loss before opening the game, then use account limits and breaks rather than chasing a feature.

Read the charged amount

Bet range, optional costs and affordability

The product record gives a reference minimum of €0.10 and maximum of €100. Those euro-denominated figures identify the provider's reference build. They do not promise equivalent NZD controls, and an operator can apply different denominations or account limits.

Always read the total bet immediately before a paid action. The interface can show denomination, level, lines and total stake separately. Enhanced spins or bonus-reel options may increase the price of a round, while a feature purchase can cost many multiples of the base stake. The amount leaving the balance is the relevant measure.

A useful pre-session calculation is total bet multiplied by the maximum number of rounds you are prepared to buy, assuming the entire amount can be lost. For a feature purchase, treat the whole displayed price as exposed at once. Do not finance a purchase by increasing the base stake after losses.

Promotional funds do not change the slot's RTP. Wagering requirements, game contribution, maximum-bet rules and cash-out limits sit in the operator's terms. Check them independently, because a bonus can make an otherwise permitted game or stake ineligible.

Interface verification

Mobile help and what a demo can prove

The official web demo loaded a responsive game client and exposed the title, help date, version, rules and return information used here. On a phone, locate the menu, information icon, total bet, balance and paytable before considering a paid round. If text is clipped, rotate the device or expand the help rather than relying on a search result.

A demo can demonstrate symbol movement, feature order, mode selection and interface controls with valueless credits. It cannot establish that a real-money operator accepts players in New Zealand, that the operator uses the same game ID, or that its active RTP matches the demo.

Demo results also cannot validate the long-run RTP. Ten, one hundred or even thousands of observed spins are a noisy sample, especially in a volatile game. A large demo win is not a prediction for paid play and a dry demo sequence is not proof that the published mathematics is wrong.

If desktop and mobile help disagree, pause. Record the exact URL or operator, title, mode, help version and percentages. The mismatch can indicate a cached client, a market build or an update. Current deployed help is stronger evidence than an undated review, but conflicting clients still need clarification.

Separate evidence chain

New Zealand access is not inferred from the demo

Relax Gaming's own-games catalogue and public demo show that the studio publishes Nugget Ridge. They do not show that a named operator lawfully offers it to a person in New Zealand. Studio publication, aggregation, operator inventory, territorial access and legal status are separate claims.

Before any real-money use, verify the operator's identity, current New Zealand terms, age and location controls, payments, withdrawals, complaints, account limits and self-exclusion tools. A localised page, NZD wallet or country flag is not on its own regulatory proof.

New Zealand's online-gambling position is time-sensitive. Check the Department of Internal Affairs player guidance and our dated legal-status guide at the point of use. This review is about one game's rules and does not provide legal advice.

Even after an operator check, inspect the live game help. A valid operator relationship does not prove the highest RTP, and the right RTP does not prove operator status. Keeping both questions separate prevents a global demo from becoming an unsupported availability claim.

Source reconciliation

What the checked sources establish

The official product page establishes first-party authorship, public release status, layout, reference bets, headline features and the supported market game IDs. The loaded demo supplies the stronger operational evidence for rules, version, displayed RTP, purchase route and win-cap wording.

We loaded Relax Gaming's public demo and read the full Paytable & Game Rules panel and its translation record. It identifies help v1.0.5, dates it 29/09/2026 and supplies the exact 7/9/11-spin awards, three-spin retrigger, 5x per-position multiplier limit, 96.36% base RTP, 97.00% Buy Feature RTP and 10,000x cap. Public reviews disagree on volatility, while this help does not print a scale, so we preserve the gap.

Third-party reviews were used to find frequent questions and contradictions, not to override the live help. Competitors often print only the largest cap, omit the selected mode, describe alternative IDs as exact RTPs without a source, or treat global demo access as operator availability.

The evidence was checked on 6 October 2026. The date matters: Relax can update a client or product card, and operators can retain another certified build. Future checks should start with the deployed help and compare its identifier, version and return with this record.

We do not add a hit rate, feature frequency, universal volatility score, New Zealand operator claim or exact alternative RTP unless the checked first-party material supports it. An explicit evidence gap is preferable to a precise-looking number copied from another release.

Two-minute audit

Checklist before relying on this guide

  1. Match the full title Nugget Ridge and developer Relax Gaming.
  2. Confirm game ID nuggetridge, help date 29 September 2026 and version 1.0.5 where shown.
  3. Check the layout: a five-reel, three-row video slot with fifteen fixed paylines.
  4. Read feature triggers, reset rules and settlement order in the live help.
  5. Record the active RTP rather than assuming 96.36%.
  6. Confirm whether the cap is 10,000x.
  7. Read the displayed total stake after enabling any option.
  8. Verify operator identity and New Zealand access independently.
  9. Check promotional terms separately from game mathematics.
  10. Set money and time limits that remain acceptable if no feature arrives.

If the live help differs, use that deployed build and send the title, game ID, version, date and screenshot through our corrections process. That evidence lets us update one canonical review without creating duplicate RTP or bonus pages.

Questions answered

Frequently asked questions

What is the Nugget Ridge RTP?

The official demo help dated 29 September 2026 and marked v1.0.5 states 96.36% for the checked game. The Buy Feature has a separately stated 97.00% RTP.

How many Free Spins are awarded?

Three Bonus symbols trigger 7 Free Spins, four trigger 9, and five trigger 11. Three or more additional Bonus symbols during the feature add 3 spins.

How does the final spin work?

Every Bonus position stored from the trigger and feature converts to a Wild. Its multiplier equals the number of Bonus symbols collected in that position, capped at 5x for one position. Multipliers on the same payline multiply together.

How do respins start?

Exactly two Bonus symbols in the base game trigger the feature and convert to Sticky Wilds. Each additional Wild awards another respin, and all Wilds remain sticky.
