Short answer
Evidence-led verdict
Heroes' Gathering is a Relax Gaming first-party title identified in the checked demo as heroesgathering. the current official package exposes no readable version or publication date; the official release record dates the game to 4 February 2020. The rules describe five reels by three rows with 20 fixed paylines and a surrounding board. Those identifiers matter because lower-return builds and market-specific clients can share the same artwork.
Current Heroes' Gathering help loads its theoretical RTP from runtime configuration. The supplier configuration request returned access denied on 6 October 2026, so the active percentage could not be verified. The page therefore does not substitute an old or third-party value.
The checked help does not state one fixed ordinary-game maximum. Its paytables and any separately documented jackpot rules must therefore be read without inventing a universal cap. The reference stake range is €0.10 to €50. The risk profile is not graded in current first-party help; return and prize information do not predict whether a feature or large award will occur in a session.
This page confirms studio authorship, current help text and public release status. It does not claim that a New Zealand operator offers the title, that a demo is a local real-money product, or that a displayed euro-denominated reference range will appear as NZD. Those questions require a separate operator and live-client check.

Original board-game title
Heroes’ Gathering identity and release status
Relax Gaming released Heroes’ Gathering on 4 February 2020 and still lists it among its in-house games. The checked client uses game ID heroesgathering. The apostrophe and curly typography vary across displays, but the ID anchors the exact title.
The current package shows no readable version stamp. We therefore use its exact URL and check date for operational rules. The release's 400× claim is dated context because current help does not repeat it as a hard cap.
The product page gives €0.10–€50 as reference stakes. It does not prove New Zealand deployment, NZD denominations or operator conditions.
Fixed-line core
Five reels, three rows and 20 active lines
All 20 paylines are always active. Winning combinations begin on the leftmost reel and continue along a documented line. Only the highest combination on a given line is paid, while wins on different lines are added.
Wild symbols substitute for ordinary paying symbols. The Wheel symbol also behaves as a Wild when it appears on reel three during a board feature; its board-movement function is additional to that substitution.
The board surrounding the reels does not create a separate wager. Reel outcomes, board movement and pot additions form one feature sequence once the required Bonus symbols trigger it.
Mini Board Game
Two qualifying Bonus symbols select one active amulet
Landing two Bonus symbols on any two of reels one, three and five activates the Mini Board Game. Three amulets appear initially, but the first relevant Gold, Silver or Bronze tile reached determines the active pot for the rest of that feature.
Other active tiles are then replaced to work with the selected amulet. The pawn collects pieces when it lands on corresponding board positions. Three pieces complete that amulet and end the Mini feature.
Line wins remain credited to the running win. If their symbol group matches the active amulet, twice the line-win amount also enters its pot. That transfer is an additional feature accounting rule, not a second cash deduction.
Main Board Game Free Spins
Bonus symbols on reels 1, 3 and 5 keep all pots active
Landing all three required Bonus symbols opens the main Board Game. Gold, Silver and Bronze amulets remain available, and feature spins continue until one of them has collected three pins.
The Gold group covers Knight, Sorcerer and Goblin; Silver covers Shield, Spell Book and Daggers; Bronze covers the three coin symbols. A win is paid normally and twice its value is added to the corresponding amulet pot.
Because any amulet can finish first, the displayed pot values and pin progress must be read together. The largest current pot is not guaranteed to be the one completed.
Movement control
The reel-three Wheel moves the pawn 1–6 spaces
When the Wheel lands on reel three, it acts as a Wild and generates a number from one to six. The pawn moves that many spaces clockwise around the board.
Landing on an amulet position collects a pin for the relevant active pot. A blank position produces no collection. Movement is therefore random and discrete; the player does not choose the direction, number or landing square.
The Wheel can contribute to a line win as a Wild and also advance the board in the same feature spin. Those are separate consequences of one symbol, not evidence of two independent spins.
Pot arithmetic
Wins add twice their value to the related pot
Suppose an eligible line win is 4× the bet. The win still contributes 4× to feature winnings, while 8× is added to the matching amulet pot. The example explains the “twice” rule; it does not predict any line result.
In the main feature, all three symbol groups can build their own pots. In the Mini feature, only the chosen active pot receives relevant additions after its selection.
Pot values can survive a pin reset caused by a completed board lap. That distinction matters: losing collected pins does not necessarily erase the monetary values already shown.
Board-position awards
Corner effects differ between main and Mini routes
In the main Board Game, the three non-start corners select from effects that reset pins or add 5× or 10× to all pots, or 20× or 100× to one pot. Current help describes these as random outcomes after a qualifying corner landing.
In the Mini route, the three corners have fixed additions to the active pot: 5×, 10× and 50×. Because only one pot is active, the main feature's all-pot effects do not apply.
Landing on the upper-left start position doubles all pot values. Completing a full circuit removes collected pieces but keeps pot values, so movement can extend the path to completion.
Clear completion rule
Three pins award one pot and end the feature
The main feature ends as soon as any amulet reaches three collected pins. Its corresponding pot is awarded in addition to line wins accumulated during the feature.
The Mini feature follows the same three-piece threshold for its selected amulet. It does not continue so that another amulet can be filled after the first choice.
There is no fixed number of Free Spins stated for the main route; spins continue according to board progress until completion. That does not make the feature unlimited in value, and it does not establish the old 400× headline as current settlement wording.
Live-help evidence
RTP, house edge and alternative builds
Current Heroes' Gathering help loads its theoretical RTP from runtime configuration. The supplier configuration request returned access denied on 6 October 2026, so the active percentage could not be verified. The page therefore does not substitute an old or third-party value. Without a verified percentage, a house edge cannot be calculated responsibly. Open the exact live help and subtract its displayed RTP from 100%; do not infer the missing value from artwork, a game-ID suffix or another edition.
| Checked mode or route | Theoretical RTP | How to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Exact deployed base game | Not exposed publicly | Read the current in-game help before use |
Once a deployed help panel supplies a percentage, read it as a long-run average across the mathematical model—not a personal refund after 100 spins. High variation, rare features, jackpots and capped awards can produce short samples far above or below that average.
Alternative game IDs are material even when their exact returns are absent from the public product card. A casino can deploy a lower-RTP build under the same consumer title. We therefore do not label any third-party percentage “universal” or “guaranteed.” Open the information control in the operator client and look for the percentage after the game has loaded.
Do not infer RTP from a demo balance, one successful bonus, a streaming clip or a site's headline card. A random sample cannot identify the configured model reliably. The useful audit record is the exact title, visible game ID or version, displayed RTP, date and operator client captured together.
Distribution, not prediction
Volatility and maximum-win limits
Neither current help nor the official release assigns a named volatility tier. The open-ended board duration and pot concentration describe uneven feature outcomes, but they do not create a provider volatility label or reveal a hit frequency.
The current help does not publish a single fixed ordinary-game cap. That evidence gap must remain separate from moving progressive prizes and promotional maximum-win copy. If a deployed operator client states a cap, record that exact build and the unit it uses rather than importing a number from another source.
A cap is a settlement limit, not a realistic session target. It provides no countdown, hit schedule or evidence that raising the stake improves the chance per dollar. Previous non-winning spins do not move a random future result closer to the cap. Treat every paid round as new exposure.
Practical risk is also shaped by total stake, spin speed, feature purchases, enhanced-spin options and session length. A lower stake repeated rapidly can expose more money than a higher stake used briefly. Decide the total acceptable loss before opening the game, then use account limits and breaks rather than chasing a feature.
Read the charged amount
Bet range, optional costs and affordability
The product record gives a reference minimum of €0.10 and maximum of €50. Those euro-denominated figures identify the provider's reference build. They do not promise equivalent NZD controls, and an operator can apply different denominations or account limits.
Always read the total bet immediately before a paid action. The interface can show denomination, level, lines and total stake separately. Enhanced spins or bonus-reel options may increase the price of a round, while a feature purchase can cost many multiples of the base stake. The amount leaving the balance is the relevant measure.
A useful pre-session calculation is total bet multiplied by the maximum number of rounds you are prepared to buy, assuming the entire amount can be lost. For a feature purchase, treat the whole displayed price as exposed at once. Do not finance a purchase by increasing the base stake after losses.
Promotional funds do not change the slot's RTP. Wagering requirements, game contribution, maximum-bet rules and cash-out limits sit in the operator's terms. Check them independently, because a bonus can make an otherwise permitted game or stake ineligible.
Interface verification
Mobile help and what a demo can prove
The official web demo loaded a responsive game client and exposed the title, help date, version, rules and return information used here. On a phone, locate the menu, information icon, total bet, balance and paytable before considering a paid round. If text is clipped, rotate the device or expand the help rather than relying on a search result.
A demo can demonstrate symbol movement, feature order, mode selection and interface controls with valueless credits. It cannot establish that a real-money operator accepts players in New Zealand, that the operator uses the same game ID, or that its active RTP matches the demo.
Demo results also cannot validate the long-run RTP. Ten, one hundred or even thousands of observed spins are a noisy sample, especially in a volatile game. A large demo win is not a prediction for paid play and a dry demo sequence is not proof that the published mathematics is wrong.
If desktop and mobile help disagree, pause. Record the exact URL or operator, title, mode, help version and percentages. The mismatch can indicate a cached client, a market build or an update. Current deployed help is stronger evidence than an undated review, but conflicting clients still need clarification.
Separate evidence chain
New Zealand access is not inferred from the demo
Relax Gaming's own-games catalogue and public demo show that the studio publishes Heroes' Gathering. They do not show that a named operator lawfully offers it to a person in New Zealand. Studio publication, aggregation, operator inventory, territorial access and legal status are separate claims.
Before any real-money use, verify the operator's identity, current New Zealand terms, age and location controls, payments, withdrawals, complaints, account limits and self-exclusion tools. A localised page, NZD wallet or country flag is not on its own regulatory proof.
New Zealand's online-gambling position is time-sensitive. Check the Department of Internal Affairs player guidance and our dated legal-status guide at the point of use. This review is about one game's rules and does not provide legal advice.
Even after an operator check, inspect the live game help. A valid operator relationship does not prove the highest RTP, and the right RTP does not prove operator status. Keeping both questions separate prevents a global demo from becoming an unsupported availability claim.
Source reconciliation
What the checked sources establish
The official product and release pages establish Relax authorship, the 4 February 2020 release, 5×3 layout, reference stakes and dated 400× headline. Current help controls the 20 paylines, separate two- and three-Bonus routes, wheel movement, amulet accounting and feature-ending rules. RTP remains unresolved at runtime.
Current help verifies all 20 lines active, Bonus positions 1/3/5, clockwise 1–6 wheel movement, Gold/Silver/Bronze symbol groups, twice-win pot additions, three-pin completion, corner awards, lap reset and start-tile doubling. It exposes no current hard cap.
Third-party reviews were used to find frequent questions and contradictions, not to override the live help. Competitors often print only the largest cap, omit the selected mode, describe alternative IDs as exact RTPs without a source, or treat global demo access as operator availability.
The evidence was checked on 6 October 2026. The date matters: Relax can update a client or product card, and operators can retain another certified build. Future checks should start with the deployed help and compare its identifier, version and return with this record.
We do not add a hit rate, feature frequency, universal volatility score, New Zealand operator claim or exact alternative RTP unless the checked first-party material supports it. An explicit evidence gap is preferable to a precise-looking number copied from another release.
Two-minute audit
Checklist before relying on this guide
- Match the full title Heroes' Gathering and developer Relax Gaming.
- Confirm game ID heroesgathering, help date 6 October 2026 and version not exposed where shown.
- Check the layout: five reels by three rows with 20 fixed paylines and a surrounding board.
- Read feature triggers, reset rules and settlement order in the live help.
- Record the active RTP rather than assuming a number from another source.
- Confirm whether the deployed help states an ordinary cap; preserve the gap if it does not.
- Read the displayed total stake after enabling any option.
- Verify operator identity and New Zealand access independently.
- Check promotional terms separately from game mathematics.
- Set money and time limits that remain acceptable if no feature arrives.
If the live help differs, use that deployed build and send the title, game ID, version, date and screenshot through our corrections process. That evidence lets us update one canonical review without creating duplicate RTP or bonus pages.

Questions answered
Frequently asked questions
What is the current Heroes' Gathering RTP?
Current help inserts RTP from runtime configuration. That configuration returned access denied during the 6 October 2026 check, so this guide leaves the percentage unresolved.
What do two Bonus symbols trigger?
Two Bonus symbols on any two of reels 1, 3 and 5 activate the Mini Board Game. The first amulet tile reached selects the only active pot.
What do three Bonus symbols trigger?
Bonus symbols on reels 1, 3 and 5 activate Board Game Free Spins with all three amulets available until one collects three pins.
How do the amulet pots grow?
Line wins are paid normally, and twice the value of a win is added to the pot associated with that symbol group. Board corner awards can also add fixed bet multiples.
Is 400× a current verified cap?
No. The official 2020 release described a 400× maximum, but current help does not state it as a settlement cap. This page labels it historical context.
